Can someone explain the Bud Light boycott to me?

Of course people have a right to boycott. I have a right to question that boycott - as I did w/ this thread, and really, the main answer I've gotten is that people are free to hate & be bigoted. Which, of course, they are - but I'd be on the side of trying to minimize hate & intolerance.

If talking about liberty & respecting individual rights & choices is now "talking like" a leftist, that's certainly an interesting development. But conservatives in general have been trending against freedom, so I guess it makes some sense.

You talk like a leftist because you ARE a leftist, dumbass.

Perversion is not a right.

Sounds like the boycott has been a pretty significant blow to Anheuser Busch. Huge drops in sales nationwide. Indeed it sounds like even in pretty well known gay areas (Hells Kitchen forexample), their sales have tanked.

Well deserved.

Top Ten Best-Selling Beers Have LGBT Partnerships – Here’s the One That Was Boycotted for Endorsing Trump

What the Newsweek reporter did not mention was the fact America’s largest wholly-American-owned brewery, Yuengling beer, was actually boycotted in 2016 after its CEO endorsed then-candidate Donald Trump’s run for president.

NBC News reported the brewery, which is located in Pennsylvania, was boycotted by gay bars in Philadelphia after CEO Richard Yuengling Jr. announced his support for Trump during a conversation with Eric Trump.

“Our guys are behind your father,” Yuengling said during a meeting with Trump’s son. “We need him in [the White House].”

A local lawmaker who was seemingly under the impression Trump would turn the U.S. into Saudi Arabia threw a fit and a boycott was on in Philly’s gay community.

This information might appear irrelevant, but it takes on more meaning when you come across tweets like this one from Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s partner:

The lack of self-awareness among a segment of the population that is constantly launching boycotts is astounding.

Well, you know if we let those icky LBGTQ ppl drink our beloved Bud Light, next thing you know they'll be sitting next to us at ball games and concerts, just like "normal" people!

Bud Lite is total shite as is anyone that uses a babyish word like icky.

It's truly hard to believe that it is distantly related to the Czech Budvar brewery and its magnificent beers.

On a local note, I went to an OU baseball game last night. We got smoked in the 10th inning, giving up 7 runs. Only about 2000 or so fans. Usually there are little blue cans and bottles being carried about everywhere in the stands. While I saw a lot of beer, I saw only two blue cans. Of course some of what was drawn into cups could have come from big blue barrels. I’ve never drank any beer so I’m not sure where it all comes from.
