What good is a nation where no matter which faction has the temporary majority, half the country is ALWAYS enraged?
Our seemingly imminent demise is proof of that.
We're too cowardly to take the big steps necessary to join the civilized world, so we're joining the third world instead.
Cowardice is the one failure that can't be overcome, no matter how honorable or well-intended the goal.

Al Jazeera English is great. I even like BBC. Foreign news is valuable for all the reasons you and I discussed a couple days ago. I wish more Americans were more curious about the world.

I do too. The mainstream news, and that includes cable news as well, doesn't seem to have much to say about doings in the rest of the world on any average night. You might occasionally see a story about a high-rise fire in some foreign city, or how the pandemic is affecting a region overseas. Unless it's about a war that we're also involved in, you'd think America was the only country on the planet.
