Can the country be unified?

There's a pandemic happening. Biden won this election so decisively that there hasn't been a shred of doubt for 23 days. Act like a man and deal with reality.

Pandemic?
The death toll since December has dropped from 23 per million to 21 per million population. Come on man! Gullible

I don't often correct other people's spelling, punctuation, or grammar. The misuse of "Democrat" as an adjective, when it isn't, is a deliberate attempt to insult political opponents because "Democratic" is colloquially more desirable than "Democrat". Right wing media made up the entire construction so that people like you and your homeboys would forget how to speak English and just start repeating what you heard.

You're so woke, right, Hawkeye?

I say that you are being at best hyper sensitive. Let us not forget that the Left has long been sure that winning demands that all conversations be conducted in language that they approve of, that arguments be framed as they demand....and that they have well proved willing to do it........ because they suck.

I dont think it would take many of us doing that consistently to put an end to the mass thread banners....thank you for your efforts.

It won't end the nutjobs. What it would do is dissuade anyone with a lick of sense not to follow them. The nutjobs would jump off a building into traffic if the whimsy hit them.

I'll go with the pledge as best possible. There's one thread I noticed today after I replied and scrolled to the top which had about 10 bans. I'm not going to go out of my way to boycott, but if a new thread starts and I see it, I'll pass on it.

Oh, I just realized the time. You're already fucked up again by now. That would explain whatever you just typed into the void.

It could also be that some conservative viewpoints have become so radical that they don't really deserve a platform. I imagine we would both say the same thing about some viewpoints on the extreme left. The catch for me is this: Is it intolerant to reject intolerance? Yes, it is. Is it justified to be intolerant of intolerance? I think so, but that's a messy game. Alternative viewpoints should always be considered by people who want to grow and learn and think better. I agree that conservative voices are given less volume on most college campuses. A lot of the cancel culture of which I am aware, though, relates to hateful and/or intolerant conservative messaging. I don't know if liberal whack jobs are receiving time and space at universities that conservative whack jobs are not, but I don't really mind both of them being denied entrance. If, however, reasonable conservative speakers are being refused an audience simply because they're conservative, then the echo chamber magnifies and the universities do a disservice to the students who pay them (along with their parents) fortunes of money.

Like I said earlier, I think those people may as well be allowed to speak to an empty auditorium. Preference is the power of consumerism. If conservative students, faculty, and parents caused enough of a stink, though, the service provider (i.e., the school) would bend to their wishes to maintain their profits. So either conservative users of universities don't care enough to form a true counteraction to liberal cancel culture or there are simply fewer conservatives who attend post-secondary institutions. Either way, I simply don't accept that universities exercise carte blanche to silence conservative points of view.

USC is an incredible school that helps develops amazing people. I have a lot of close friends who attended your alma mater. Your burn on my football team hurts but is completely accurate. And these Californian and Texan jerks have been clogging up my hiking paths and roads for decades.

I believe it was in 2019 when President Obama even discussed cancel culture and the silencing of voices on college campuses. Whether one is on the right or left college is a time/place to be challenged and exposed to new idea and people and IMO and many others we are slowly moving away from that and Obama was acknowledging that. (this is separate but we've heard comedians such as Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfield talk about not wanting to perform on college campuses any longer. It speaks to a bigger issue of on campuses.) We get more into the weeds and bring out more specific examples but from 30K feet it's an issue.

Anecdotally I know six people in the last three years that have moved from SF to Denver. And I know there are far more than that (also a contributor to CO going from more red politically to purple and now pretty blue it seems). While still more affordable than SF, my understanding is Denver real estate prices have had a healthy increase over the past few years.

I still root for CU football. When you were really good you were recruiting a decent number of top kids from L.A./So Cal. That pipeline hasn't been the same the last couple of decades like it was in the '90's unfortunately.

Riiiiight

Boy, you know that you consistently degrade throughout each day until you become utterly incomprehensible. Then you take a nap, rinse off, and repeat. All I'm saying is that you're close to hitting today's wall. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.

I know a little about Colorado's residential real estate market, but I work in commercial real estate in CO, NY, and overseas. Boulder/Denver intentionally positioned itself as the "affordable alternative" for the technology industry. We have been flooded with SF/NYC tech types who think CO is super cheap (comparatively, it is) and have bloated the market to the extent that it's pushing natives out of the state. It's been really interesting to watch as the state turns more liberal, more urban, and more expensive.

I think we have to draw lines in some places. For example, Trump supporters are dead to me; and I will never forgive them for supporting Trump. Lots of people say that makes me intolerant. To some extent, it does, but I have to take the right stands at the right times; and that is a judgment I have made. You, however, have flown off the rails AT A LIBERAL (and another person who identifies as liberal) because I made the undeniable statement that Democrats and Republicans both gerrymander. You called both of us Russian bots. So you tell me which one of us is less tolerant than the other.
Democrat Party voters REALLY want unity dammit!!!
Which is why I suspect Diesel is a POE and/or a sock. He's just too good at playing the Republican-version of the worst the Democrats have to offer.

POE, IMO, and probably a member of the Ass Lesion Army.

It isn't a flu. It is deadly. I don't even know how someone "argues for" a virus.

Your brain is broke. We don't need to continue this conversation.

Your carnality has impeded your honesty. You are so in love with your homosexual lifestyle that you want Biden even if the election was fraudulent like South American voting. That is unfortunate but none the less the real men will deal with the issues.
