Can you believe these people?

Sorry to hear about your father--and I hope your kids give the liberial professors hell. :)

What area to live interests you?

Probably South. I was basically settled on FL, since my brother was planning on moving there in a few years. His son though has had a serious illness, so I'm unsure my brother and SIL will leave this area. I've always liked Kentucky, Tennesee, and Virginia.

Sir--if a law is broken by somebody, they did a illegal act. That is seperate from inforcement IMO.

I bet the reason why many laws are ignored is the public would probably have to know if a law was to be removed from the books (to clean house).

Can you imagine what would happen if the American people actually knew that somebody trying to coerse your SSN from you for anything but tax purposes is a felony. would we want to remove that from the books as a public, or would we ask that it be inforced.

My non tax filing buddy tried to put a secretary of starte lady under citizens arrest--he called 911 and got the cops there saying "A fellony was commited against me, and I would like to make a citizens arrest". Of course the cops wrote him off as a public pain--but they looked in their lap top with him----and it is the law.
So old Jim Crow laws still on the books in some Southern States after being found unconstitutional means that a white woman who marries a black man acted illegally, just because they are on the books somewhere? You are wrong.

Many laws simply become defunct while remaining on the books, they be unenforceable through precedent or court decisions, or simply are no longer valid because they are not enforced.

Such as:

The Arkansas legislature passed a law that states that the Arkansas River can rise no higher than to the Main Street bridge in Little Rock.

In Calgary there is a by-law that is still on the books that requires businesses within the city to provide rails for tying up horses.

In Los Angeles, you cannot bathe two babies in the same tub at the same time.

In California, animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.

In Denver it is unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next-door neighbor.

It is illegal to say "Oh, Boy" in Jonesboro, Georgia. (Sorry I said Texas earlier, really it is Georgia...)

Idaho state law makes it illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing less than fifty pounds. (Wow, I bet there are a ton of men in prison for this.)

It is against the law for a monster to enter the corporate limits of Urbana, Illinois. (Do you think Ross Perot could visit?)

In Gary, Ind., persons are prohibited from attending a movie house or other theater and from riding a public streetcar within four hours of eating garlic. (Think they have arrested anybody?)

In Ottumwa, Iowa, "It is unlawful for any male person, within the corporate limits of the (city), to wink at any female person with whom he is unaquainted." (Can you imagine the prison conversation? I killed three people and a dog, what are you in for? I winked at a little girl who had said something funny!)

There is a Massachusetts law requiring all dogs to have their hind legs tied during the month of April. (I'll bet that the cops are all over this!)

In Michigan, a woman isn't allowed to cut her own hair without her husband's permission. (I'll bet this is all enforceable and stuff)...

New Hampshire law forbids you to tap your feet, nod your head, or in any way keep time to the music in a tavern, restaurant, or cafe. (Yeah, totally not a violation of 1st Amendment rights... They must be acting illegally when they dance.)

There are myriad laws like that....

Actually our high school seems to do ok with the critical thinking deal, at least judged by my kids and their friends. I have 3, 2 boys and a girl. The girl tends more conservative politically, a music major. Both boys tend liberal, one in finance, the other law enforcement as for majors. One of my son's friends went to West Point, one to the Air Force Academy. Another to Stanford, he's the 'conservative one' at a very liberal university. Others are working on Obama's campaign, (we're in Illinois), still others for Ron Paul, (hey, they are young.) ;)

Look at this person. (Of course, I am scared to call her a lady--because I have been Duped by Darla--a liberial gay man). Thank you for offering some history of yourself. It seems like not to many people are willing to do that as they express their idealisms--because they probably have something to hide. Ask any liberial that wants to raise taxes what they do for work--and you won't get a answer.

Kudos to you--but I hope your boys wake up.

Show them that long post I just wrote when I offered my history. I would be interested to hear about their reactions.

The one is Stanford---does he speak his consertative mind--or does he stay quiet?

The one at Stanford is a friend of my son's. He is not quiet, he plans on running for President one day. He spent a year in Africa in a UN sponsored program. He learned the language. He enjoyed interacting with the people, came home and wrote a paper that was published on how ineffective the UN is on the ground and why. Very smart kid.

Dude--all I am saying is a law on the books that is broken is a crime. Weather they inforce it or not has nothing to do with the fact that a law has been broken. I am sure all those silly laws have a interesting story. Just because there is no enforcement, or penality if a law is broken, does not mean it is legal. We let people go all the time, using descression. It happens all the time that when somebody in power wants to nail someone--they look at laws that have not been enforced--and bring them up. Why---it is a law. I am sure it is up to decression weather the old law will be inforced for this individual if that is the charge.

I don't see a strong relationship between calling a law that is broken, not a crime, just because it is not inforced. But of course---no one wants all the laws enforced--some are wacked by todays standards. :)

His teachings are not from a constitutionalists view point though---and that is what I fear.

He's pretty much the constitutionalist. At the same time his degree will be international relations, planning on going to law school. He speaks 5 languages already. He's not ruled out JAG, in fact so far is saying that's his plan after law school.

Obamma claims to be a constitutionalist--but he is not.

I hope your boy has a lot of integrity to witstand all that conditioning he is going through.

What is JAG?

Does he realize we are heading toward socialism, and communisum and losing our freedom--or is the thought process "that is just the way it is, and if I want to make it--I have to bend" more predominant?

I guess, what I am asking is. Is he a leader with the majority of people being the #1 priority no matter what happens, or is he a follower that is looking to be as successfull for himself as possible?

We need more constitutionalists hero's, or we won't remember who we were. We already forgot what freedom is IMO.

I think many conservatives don't quite see the dire predictions that you seem to. While I disagree with much put out by Schumer and Co., I don't think they are trying to lead the US to perdition.

I'm sorry if I'm 'reading' you wrong, but seems what you are going for.

is the majority Dixie?
He says he has his own business. It must be a snowball stand, or maybe he delivers papers.
He sure is a simpleton

He is obviously a finiancial wizard like you top.

You and topspin are both a total pieces of shit.

I hope you both rot in hell.

Both of you should have been aborted---your walking advertisements for abortion.

you tell your parents that I said that. They failed you. They failed America

I wish everyone could fail as miserably as I have :)
And that is a good wish for everyone.
After I die I do not care where I rot.

Right, why do I pay my employees more than most all other employers in my area and provide medical ins then ?

Selfish ? I will tell you once again, I am not a Bush supporter, and never have been.

This only means that you have never heard the legal phrase "de facto decriminalization".

Laws that are unenforced as policy are also considered decriminalized.
