Can you impeach a former president ?

Like Trump himself, the Trumpeteers are getting desperate and reaching for straws.

The Constitution is rather particular that the Senate has sole power to try impeachments. The Supreme Court is extremely biased towards Republicans, but there is only so much they can do. They cannot blatantly violate the Constitution.

And yet the Constitution is completely clear that only the Senate has a say, and not the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court agrees, that it has no say. If it is decided by the Supreme Court, it is a violation of the Constitution.

Great minds have thought this one out, and realized that only the Senate gets a say.

I think his point is that The Constitution is unclear on whether conviction by the Senate can take place after a President has left office. I believe that's correct, it is unclear.

I'm good with it. Trump is a traitorous asshole but I doubt he'll be hung as a traitor as traitors deserve. I am satisfied that Congress and the US justice system will do what is best for all.

Precedent says it can be done.

you clearly don't know anything about impeachment or the constitution meat head . You really re stupid . Its a multi stage process and the senate has not become involved as of yet. By the time they do trump will not be in office meat head.

I will explain it do you can understand with your limited intelligence.

it kinda like the District Attorney( AKA the one sided house) bringing charges against you meat head but there is no arrest.

But nothing will happen until a judge and a jury actually try you .( AKA the senate) but now you have to deal with the fact Trump will no longer be President you meat head, as by the time this can happen he will be out of office you meat head .
Now go back to your finger paintings or playing in your own shit like a good little dummy.

He has been impeached. He has not yet had a trial on the charges brought by the impeachment.

Impeachment’s is synonymous with having been indicted. Trump has been impeached, much like a tax evader can be indicted.

Can you impeach a former president ? Can a private citizen be impeached ?

No, you cannot. But the brain dead dumbasses on the left, the Party of the Jackass and the PHONY media stupidly believe they can. They really are the most repugnant, worthless dumbasses on the panet.

He can't be removed since he's leaving but he can be kept from running again. Impeachment was also begun while he was still president and not the former.

Do you think the Senate can conduct a trial against a FORMER President? If you stupidly think that, what precedent?

What the Constitution is clear about is who gets to decide about the trial, and that is the Senate. The Constitution specifically says that it is the Senate solely who decides.

I agree that the Constitution is unclear as to the details of the trial, and whether the trial can happen after trump leaves office, but it is super clear as to who decides the answer. If trump has a problem with how this progresses, he can bring it up with the Senate.

... although there is a rule that a person can't be tossed out of office before a senate trial concludes so we will see if Trump tries that.

Trump won't be in office by the time it goes to the Senate. How do you use a process intended to "REMOVE" someone from office when they no longer occupy it?

Come on dimwits. This isn't rocket science. The Party of the Jackass are making a mockery of the process to score political points with low information dumbasses and you tools are falling for it.
:palm:

nothing at all unconstitutional about trying a president in the Senate after he's been impeached by the House

he can also be charged in criminal court, do time
