Capitalism, my observations show its not perfect.

Exactly. When I read the subject line it made me think has anyone ever said capitalism is perfect?

Edit: Humans, my observations show they're not perfect.
 
But a moderate amount of regulation will make it better. The inperfections can be reduced.

Slavery can be used as a figurative term.

It's interesting. I consider myself a capitalist at heart, and I like the idea of a system where there is no ceiling to what I can achieve. And I think most people support capitalism out of similar kinds of sentiments. But by its very nature, only a small % of people under a capitalist system can achieve the highest goals: for every CEO, there HAVE to be many worker bees; only a certain # of start-up businesses can survive, given the marketplace; there can only be so many bestselling authors, musicians, et al. This list goes one. We prefer a system where we at least have a chance, even though the odds are somewhat stacked against most people.

And the slavery part comes in where that group of "most people" finds themselves not only falling behind because of some of the excesses of capitalism (like greed), where they simply can't keep up with skyrocketing costs of healthcare, education, oil, etc, but losing power to those same few who are putting them in that spot, because of the latter's influence on our government. It's a pretty absurd, extreme situation from a certain perspective.
 
I've always found it ironic that Democrats liken anything they take issue with as "being reduced to slavery," given their track record on slavery.

Nope. Not really. Unregulated capitalism, just like unregulated liberty, would lead to anarchy. As a society, we do need boundaries and limitations, on both liberty and capitalism. No one that I am aware of, has ever argued that we should have totally unregulated capitalism. Still, my point remains, Capitalism = Liberty. When you speak of Capitalism, just replace the word "Liberty" and see if it makes sense, if it doesn't, it's a bad idea. In most cases, it's preferable to allow liberty, and the same is true with capitalism. That doesn't mean you don't need regulation or control of it to some degree, just as is the case with liberty.
