Caroline "you know" Kennedy

Biden is senile now? Is this the new Limbaugh talking point?

I am thinking he meant "Biden is infinitely more qualified to be president than Palin, on paper maybe more qualified than Obama."

I didn't know Rush Limbaugh talking about you made you senile. Clinton must be absolutely retarded by now.

:D <- Note, this symbol is meant to inform people that this post is, in part or in whole, sarcasm.

I am calling Biden senile because when a person says this:
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed,” Biden told Couric. “He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”
they didn't just make ONE simple speaking error.
FDR did not say that, nor was he even president in 1929, plus the television wasn't even commercially available until the 30's and most couldn't afford one til much later anyway where they still would have heard FDR in his fireside chats on radio only.

As well Biden asked a guy he knew was in a wheelchair to stand up, mixed up article 1 with article 2, and I'm sure some other stuff that was mentioned.

Hell this shouldn't even be news, the Obama campaign even got Biden to shut up for awhile specifically because he was sounding senile.

And as for Biden's much vaunted "foreign policy experience", what has he done? Voted for the Iraq war (which Obama claimed he wouldn't have done) while rattling sabres over a nuclear ally like Pakistan.

He's not just senile, he has bad judgment too.

Biden is known for running off at the mouth. But I am betting the FDR/TV remark was just a slip. I doubt he actually thought FDR got on TV to talk to the people.

And if you want to argue that Biden is less qualified to be president than Palin is, you will have to find much more than that.

I think he was arguing his senility.

I can't believe the interviewer didn't catch that and give him a hand... I would have been, um, don't you mean Hoover, and the Radio?

But then I would have asked more questions about the time where he was plagiarizing speeches and lying on his resume, yes Socrtease, it is because I am partisan I would have asked those questions.

Now those would have been issues worth following up on.

I can't believe that you actually believe that the interviewer knew that there was no tv then, or that it was Hoover who was President.

There is no way.

Michael Moore tells this great story in one of his books. One day he is listening to Fred Barnes mouth off on a talk show, ridiculing american students because a study had come out showing that a high percentage of them couldn't tell you what Homer's Odyssey was about. Barnes was laughing at them saying "can you believe this?"

So Moore called him up and said, hey fred, what's The Odyssey about?" And Barnes stumbles around and then says "uh it was a poem". And Moore says, Fred, what was it about? And then Barnes finally admits, ok you got me, I don't know, are you happy?

And Moore said, no, I'm not happy.

And that is happening every day on our news shows. Don't kid yourself.

There is no way for the interviewer to know who was President when the Great Depression began?

Beeeeee Esssss.

LOL. I guess I'm just a History geek then. Seriously, I would have known.

sheesh only on a politics board.

2 pages to agree she lied and now it is being spun off on the liberal media ?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Palin fucks up and the media goes on forever and she gets hell. Biden fucks up and "Oh that's just that Joe being Joe and letting things slip, haha!"

It was not a slip, a slip would have been screwing up the year ONLY or screwing up the media type ONLY, people do that all the time. What he said was a fantastical version of what his dementia affected mind believed, he is trying to pretend that his fantasy version of how Liberals are is how history really was.

As for Biden's qualifications, I'll ask it again: If his big strength that he gives to Obama is foreign policy and all he has to show for it is a vote for the Iraq war and being a dangerous ass with suggestions of action on NUCLEAR (and far more heavily populated) Pakistan than how is he more qualified than anyone else?
Don't be lured into being stubborn and argue for the sake of arguing and resign yourself to the rest of the Liberal pack on here, you could even for once try saying "You have a point".

The difference is that people really belived that Palin did not know Africa was not a single nation. Everyone knows Biden knows things, but that he made a slip of the tounge.

You have a point? Perhaps making one would be the first step?

And for one who attacks liberals and dems as often as you do, and has not (that I recall) said anything complimentary towards them on here, you are expecting something of others that you do not do yourself.

As far as Biden's qualifications, I think being a senator for 7 terms and being the chairman of the Foriegn Relations Committee pretty much trumps either Obama or Palin when it comes to that area. There are only 5 senators who have been serving for longer, so his constituents apparently feel he is doing a bangup job.

Yes, he did vote to invade Iraq, but he also pushed to change the strategy later. In other words, he didn't just start the war and continue in a bullheaded manner.

AGAIN, who was defending C. Kennedy for her poor public speaking ability?
The conversation moved on. People who think she will just be the bestest of ever Senators because she is so awesomely lawyerish and just all around good at charities and stuffs...

:D <- Disclaimer: This smilie is meant to infer that the above post was full of sarcasm in many places.

But specifically who were you refering to, cuz I have not heard anyone defending her for her Public Speaking ability. Ive heard plenty of conservatives attacking her, after defending Bush, but Ive heard no liberals defending her.

I think he imagined himself up some great history and thought it would make a great point, unfortunately it was all made up in his own imagination and he was caught at it.

I think that many people believe he has problems differentiating between imagination and memory and they believe it has been demonstrated many times from back in the day when his imaginary resume got him in trouble up until just recently with imaginary history where he projected what he would have liked to have seen into history rather than bothered to learn what actually happened.

At least that's what I get from reading opinion pieces and posts about him.
