So far I've taken the view that Trump probably can't do much long-term damage, precisely because he's too ignorant and incompetent, and most normal people can see there's something badly wrong with him. Hannan's contention is that most people DON'T CARE. He thinks that Trump has permanemtly skewed the American Way (or latched on to a seismic shift that was already there). Is he right?

I would agree, but not to it's permanence-often there is an over reaction/correction..........

That has not defined the Repubs. Since Reagan, they have been the party of debt. Not an accident either. The Repubs made a plan to jack up the debt to justify ending social programs. McConnell has said they are ready to start chopping. It was Ryans reason to live.

Those employment numbers are basically just continuations of trends that were established before the election. And all the Democrats did was dig us out of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

And most of those people are members at Mar-A-Lago, simply because Trump has to drag them along for the ride to pump up his own wealth. Otherwise he would have no qualms about throwing them under the buss if it made him richer.

Trump is installing Mira Lago weathy into government positions. His unqualified UN ambassador is his latest stupid act. Earlier he permitted 3 Mira Lago wealthies to have power over the VA. None are Vets or have any government experience.
Trump is an incompetent thief.

He is installing Kelly Kraft as UN ambassador. She is heavily qualified since she is a huge Republican donor. Hubby is a coal magnate. They decided reluctantly not to put Naurart up. She was a Fox reporter, making her as qualified as any other Trump pick.
