Chavez loses his election for life

He came close though...

I wonder how the talking buttheads are handling the setback on their Hugo hating rhetoric ?

I hope Americans are able to defeat this when Bush brings it to a vote here!

i just hope we can still get free oil.
This is a portion of why the vote failed to pass. People have shortages of real food products. Chavez gives national riches away to the already rich US.

If he didn't think there might not be an effect on his popularity for that.... Well, he lives in an alternate reality. Maybe he really is the Bush of South America.

Not only are there clean elections in Venezuela, Chavez will abide by th now demonstrated will of the people .. unlike here in the land of the free and unlike some countries we celebrate, like Pakistan.

Explain how the United States doesn't abide by the will of the people, please.

Last I checked Bush was legally elected twice. It might not have been popular vote both times, but it was perfectly legal under the laws of our country.

I think we can ALL agree the people of his country have made a wise choice.

I guess they have clean elections.

Yes, evidently they do have clean elections. The margin was razor thing - 51% to 49% - and if Chavez intended to steal the election, it wouldn't have been difficult to flip those results.

Which indicates that the his three previous landslide election - which were monitored by international observers - were all legtimate. He is a democratically elected leader.

What the fuck is your love of power-hungry wanna-be dictator Chavez? You would wipe his ass no matter what he did because he calls himself a socialist.

The man originally tried to seize power through a military coup. When he finally did take power in '99 he wrote and implemented the Constitution which he soon felt constrained by. He literally just tried to extend his presidential term, abolish term limits altogether for only the office of President, and put an unprecedented amount of the Venezeulan government under his control and still you wipe his ass because he's a socialist and a Bush-basher.

Pathetic.

Previous polls before elections and referendums consistently conflicted with the election results. When that happened in 2000 and 2004 in the US, the opposition party supporters went crazy accusing the victors of systemic vote fraud.

So by Cypress logic: It's completely reasonable that Bush might have rigged the elections of 2000 and 2004, since scientific polls and exit polls did not match the result.

But when polling doesn't match the results in third world Venezuela, it's utterly unthinkable that a former leader of a military coup might have tried the same thing.

Are you professionally daft, or is it just a hobby of yours?

There is no integrity in American elections sir .. no integrity and the inconsistincies and irregularities of 2000 and 2004 are proof of that, including the fraud of electronic voting which has also proven to be a fraud.

The will of the American people is to bring our troops home fron the disastrously mindless war in Iraq .. but that is not the will of the Bush government so the American people get the finger.

Quoted as a perfect example of what I was referring to as "Cypress-Logic" in my last post.

Perfect example of non-logic and not being educated about the facts.

Elections in Venezuela have international monitoring. Elections in the US do not and to deny vote-tampering and fraudulent elections in the US is stupid.

Polling was not the only indicator that something was seriously wrong with the results and elections of 2000 and 2004.

If it had been proven to be fraud, then there would be people in prison. The election itself was settled in court (what a fine moment for the US), so I doubt that if there was any actual proof Gore and co. would have hesitated to drag Bush and his buddies straight to prison. There is certainly more integrity in the US election system than that of most of the third world.

The elected Bush government. We were talking about elections, and it is his right as president to do as he sees fit unless he finishes his term or gets removed from office.
