Chavez On Private Schools: Teach Socialism or Face Takeover

I'm well aware of Operation Condor thank you.

And I'm pretty sure I didn't say "Well America is perfect in every aspect, but Chavez buys soviet weapons!!"

Stop being childish. It's not my fault you misread.

If you're aware of Operation Condor, then how is it that you don't see preparing for defense of is country isn't a good thing?

What the fuck is "America is perfect" .. did I accuse you of saying that.

It only makes good sense that he prepares his people against US aggression .. or is that considered "childish?"

I don't see it as a good thing for US to be amassing weapons, much less other countries run by a cult of personality.

There is no realistic chance of US agression, so basically he's blowing money, that by his own platform should be going to fight poverty, on weapons. Typical Soviet-style Communist.

You man he's confused why having militas and buying soviet weapons aren't a good thing when his country stands under the shadow of CIA intervention, corruption, and attack?

Perhaps he's knows history and knows of the School of the Americas and their reign of terror throughout Latin America. The rest of Latin America knows .. which is why they've turned left.

Well, that's the elephant in the discussion isn't it?

I agree.

It sounds like he just wants to educate the children about his heroes.

Don't we also indoctrinate our children in the ways of the Republic?

Exactly my point at the beginning of this discussion frog, but Damo asssured me that doesn't happen here.

WHAT?

There already IS US aggression aimed at Chavez and Bolivia's Morales.

The CIA has already tried to overthrow Chavez and we have a long ass history of aggression in :atin America.

Chavez is right to arm his people .. and I think he has a better handle on what he needs to buy than you do.

"Soviet-style communist" .. that's laughable.

True.

Our own terrorist training camp can't be a problem .. cause we wear white hats.

I am going to be down there in November, for the first time. The school of the Americas. I've been reading a lot about it the past few years. You know, once you know, you can't unknow, but when you don't know, you might live very happily never knowing and considering people who do know to be "moonbats" and "America haters".

So usually I don't even bother mentioning it here.

I think it's funny how you have managed to shift this away from your support of Chavez's weapons buying spree into an attempt to get me to defend Operation Condor.

I couldn't care less if you even knew what Operation Condor was and I have not asked you to defend it.

Misread perhaps?

I have ZERO problem defending Chavez buying weapons.

I did not. I assured you that there is no law that says that you cannot teach other methods of government in a Private School or face a takeover.

What part of that sentence says what you pretend I said?

I don't think it's fair to say that we indoctrinate the way Chavez seems to be proposing.
Not even close. Often you will hear about teachers that promote socialism in our schools. Usually it is by somebody on a rightwing radio show all up in arms about it. They still don't lose their jobs and continue teaching. And that is in public schools.... Let alone a law that says if you don't teach the government-proscribed government methodology then you will be taken over, if you happen to be a Private School.

The Schoolf of the America's, or whatever new name they disguised it as these days, is a terrorist training camp pure and simple. Yet, NO administration, democrat of republican will do anything about it.

But man are we outraged about 9/11.

Wanna stop terrorism .. stop using it.

But, I know what you mean and it's why I haven't fully discussed or started a thread about the Jena 6 case which is exploding today.

Cool, well I'll expect a spirited defense of our military industrial complex from you next time it comes up in debate.

Chavez isn't a threat to the united states. He's not going to invade or attack us. If he buys weapons from the russians, so what? His regional competitors like colombia and brazil buy weapons from other nations.

And I don't even think its debatable that the Bush adminstration was involved in staging the 2002 coup against Chavez. Let's be clear on this: Chavez hates the bush adminstration, and their corporate cronies. He doesn't hate america. As long as there is no genocide, or egrergious and widespread human rights crimes in venezuela, I don't care much about what form of economy they have.

That would be dumb .. but I wouldn't be surprised.

Haha of course I'm sorry. I was searching for some degree of consistency in your ideas. Apparently you actually do dislike your own country. Quite a double standard you have there.

I'm pointing out that I'm against both. We don't need a further amassing of arms. There are already more than enough in the world.
