I still don't understand what this means. I understand that the dem leadership doesn't want this to come to be voted on, they dont' want cheney impeached or even seen to be talking about impeaching cheney, the only pubic figure, and that includes bush, to enjoy a lower public approval rating than bleeding hemmoroids.

But what happens now that it has been passed onto the judiciary committee?
 
LOL. So the "No" votes were against killing the bill. And this is what Nancy Pelosi had to say:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "has said that impeachment is off the table and that the new direction Congress is focused on responsibly and honorably redeploying our troops out of Iraq, covering 10 million uninsured children and meeting our national priorities long neglected by the Bush Administration," said her spokesman Nadeam Elshami.

Basically the Republicans attempted to force debate and an up or down vote on the resolution and the Democrats barely held it off!

I too am a bit confused as to exactly what has transpired here. I think from what I have read that this now goes to the Senate and they decide whether to proceed. Key words... I think.... not sure on this.

No, they changed it before the vote was complete to send the resolution to the Judiciary Committee for "discussion".

Effectively, the Democrats just killed a measure to Impeach Cheney.

The Judiciary Committee will "study" it, which means that they will bury it for as long as they can. If someone comes nosing around too effectively, they'll have to vote on whether to send it back to the full House for a vote -- and debate, of course.

The guy coulnd't be more unpopular. I mean, you could bring Adolph back to life, and he would have similar approval ratings here, after all somee people, like asshat, would approve of hitler too.

They are so pathetic, and you cna be sure that as soon as a dem gets a blow job the republicans will be lining up to impeach him again, even if he has a 70 percent approval rating. But the dems won't impeach a vp with a 19 percent approval rating for lying us into a war.

So one thing you have to say is that the one thing republicans are right about is that the dems are wimps. I could take their pansy asses, myself.

Same here and I can't even vote yet. I think that Bloomberg may have a far greater chance than anyone thought, if he does choose to run on the Independent ticket. People are sufficiently fed up with both parties for him to have a real shot at it.
