I wish everyone would have really listened...and understand that he was in no way commanding anyone to do anything...just complimenting women and reminding them that they can choose a variety of paths...and that having a family and caring for home and family is so very important...something missing in many households lately...
Cheers to those who realize this and celebrate the strongest women...those who chose to do both... Family is always first priority...don't lose sight of what's most important because you're mad at his opinion...;)

Butker's brief reference to the antisemitic charge of "deicide" (i.e. "God-murder") demands not only engagement, but response. The deicide charge is a dangerous Christian belief that has been used to persecute Jews for centuries and led to the murder of six million Jews in the Holocaust.

What's the point of being educated to do other things besides being a wife and mother staying at home? If you want to do that, fine. BUT if not, that doesn't mean you are NOT living up to your full potential or doing something that is morally wrong. Butker clearly implies that if women don't do the former, they are doing a disservice to themselves. This nonsense was the status quo that fought against women getting the right to vote, to work jobs and get equal pay, etc.

In other words, toodles, your boy is advocating a similar mindset that exists for many extreme fundamentalist muslims....you know, the people who beat, jail or kill women for not wearing full covering or head covering, for walking to the market unescorted by a man, for wanting to get educated beyond 8th or 12th grade.
