China Vs USA.

Everyone is speaking about how successful capitalism has been in China.

Though is that what is happening in China? Capitalism or the exploitation of the poor by richer nations? Which is how real wealth is created. Not capitalism.

Now define capitalism.

The major reason why China has continued to steal global wealth is by pegging its currency to the US dollar. How does it keep its currency so low?

Is that even legal in today's market? Its totally unfair, but you wont hear any complaints from the fat cats in Washington and their rich elitists making a killing.(even if they complain its only for show, they dont do anything about it).

Its funny how they introduced free markets(in the last few decades) and people accepted it with open arms, as part of capitalist principals. Though all it is, is the exploit of cheap labor.

This is why good paying jobs are disappearing and moving to places where they can pay workers, in pennies....

Is this capitalism? Where you can export jobs to another nation? What good government, would allow such a thing? Answer? None. Only a crooked government(bribed) would stand by and watch this happen.

Now they are using that wealth to start an arms race. America has a very huge lead, but that wont stop them from milking more tax dollars.

Remember. The true power behind China's economy is foreign investors. Especially via the Federal Reserve.

China is just their latest host......

China cannot continue to sustain itself through exports. It has to start building a local economy.

Just like it did at one time.

Chinese socialism, vs American Democracy and capitalism.

Ming Dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Ming-Empire2.jpg" class="image" title="Location of Ming Dynasty"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/12/Ming-Empire2.jpg/250px-Ming-Empire2.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/1/12/Ming-Empire2.jpg/250px-Ming-Empire2.jpg

The Ming Dynasty, or anachronistically referred to as Empire of the Great Ming, was the ruling dynasty of China from 1368 to 1644, following the collapse of the Mongol-led Yuan Dynasty. The Ming, "one of the greatest eras of orderly government and social stability in human history",was the last dynasty in China ruled by ethnic Hans.

So much for socialism running out of food.....

Emperor Hongwu (r. 1368–1398) attempted to create a society of self-sufficient rural communities in a rigid, immobile system that would have no need to engage with the commercial life and trade of urban centers. His rebuilding of China's agricultural base and strengthening of communication routes through the militarized courier system had the unintended effect of creating a vast agricultural surplus that could be sold at burgeoning markets located along courier routes.

This allowed for them to start trading with Europe and switching from paper money(which was causing inflation) to currency backed by silver and gold.(And this let the devil into their country.) They tried everything(including protectionism) but failed to get them out.

Let me note that it was that inflation that led to the Hans rebelling against the Yuan dynasty and over throwing it. THEN it became prosperous.

Though due to bad weather and destruction of crops, greatly reduced their wealth(read little ice age).(Their economy had become dependent on foreign silver). And war from the Manchus from the north. And thus began their decline...

Here again it shows a self sustaining country.

Rural culture and commerce became influenced by urban trends. The upper echelons of society embodied in the scholarly gentry class were also affected by this new consumption-based culture.

They were replaced by the Manchus and the Emperor named himself, the "Son of Heaven" ???

Sounds like the Manchus may have had foreign assistance in the take over of Northern China.

I wonder what shares(if any) does the Chinese gov enjoy from the Casinos in Macau. Las Vegas has nothing on Macao......business is booming so much they have to import foreign workers. And we are talking about the most heavily populated area in the world......

The Portuguese have control until 2049......

Also let it be known that Hong Kong excelled after it abandoned the silver standard and went to using worthless paper money, just like Britain and America.........

And how did the British take control? By establishing ports in China( I think the Dutch east Indian company(The first multinational mega corporation) had already established a trading post in Taiwan).

The Chinese called the unequal treaties—granted an indemnity to Britain, the opening of five treaty ports, and the cession of Hong Kong Island, ending the monopoly of trading in the Canton System. The war marked the end of China's isolation and the beginning of modern Chinese history.

The Chinese were suspicious of foreigners and they had every right to be...

Slowly they started introducing foreign currency to undermine the economy.....

Then they sold them opium(which caused addiction) to take all the wealth back.....

Yup. Sounds like they let the devil in......

I officially endorse wiseone2cents as a validated genius of thinking.

Thank you. Its common sense. If currency is determined by GDP? Why isn't China's currency growing in value, since their GDP has sky rocketed? Can they be allowed to peg their currency to the American dollar? That's straight out cheating. This isn't capitalism.

And you will not hear any global elites complaining. They are making a killing selling this stuff in developed countries at huge profit margins...

What irks me ist all the libertarian neocon idiots acting like this is a result of some hidden hand called "free market". No market is free. All markets are sculpted by policy in a thousand ways. But they ignore this and only get upset if someone wants a policy that tilts power away from the elitists, who are destroying america, the nation they supposedly love.

The guys that have their hands in the cookie jar, who are the minority, seem to have the loudest voices....And control of the media and government...

Either invested in the stock markets, or importing or what may have you. The people that are benefiting from this, are the ones praising free markets. They don't care about their country. Just their bank accounts. That is what happens when you have a society based on ME, ME, ME.....

The poorer the nation gets, the more bang for their buck they get.......

There has been much discussion on China-US relations after negative actions from the US.

The recent gains in the US Congress by Republicans despite massive Chinese subsidies to Democrats is seen by some as a setback.

But China is in a strong position.

The economic malaise in the US has taken its toll.

Given the US's unsustainable debts, a loose monetary policy seems inevitable as the next effort to stave off the inevitable US downfall.

In contrast, Chinese stocks rose Wednesday, led by consumer-goods producers, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gaining 1.12 percent, or 31.65 points, to close at 2859.94.

Wrong, yellow_peril.

The protectionists will seize trade policy once again. We will soon bury you.

I thought the Chamber supported the Tea Timers and Republican Tea Time Wannabes?

When someone says something this stupid, that person looses all credibility and shouldn't be taken seriously from that point on. Just another ignorant, brainwashed corporate stooge. I think Yellow Peril is 12 years old. At least that's the level of his posts.
