Well, you have consider that China offers the following incentives and subsidies to citizens to buy an EV:

Buying a new EV is exempt from all taxes

The purchase price is subsidized by 30% (this is being reduced this year to 20)

Government is heavily investing in the infrastructure to produce EV's, thus reducing their market price.

VAT on used EV's is reduced from 3% (the norm) to 0.5%

The government has put in place mandated production percentages for EV's (see the New Energy Vehicle NEV mandate) meaning manufacturers selling China have to increase the percentage of EV in their sales fleet artificially regardless of market demand.

Once again, it is only government interference in the market that is driving sales. Without that fascist, statist capitalist, top-down, push-down approach, nobody would be buying the fucking things.

A highly and centrally planned economy is an inflexible disaster. The Soviet Union proved that. Mao's China proved it. North Korea proves it. While an unregulated economy is chaos, one that is regulated but not planned works best. That is the government is a referee to make sure everyone plays nice and fair, but the government doesn't tell everyone what they must make and how much of it.
The problem today is that government is increasingly doing just that: Telling the market what they can and cannot make, and how much of it they must make.

And I don't care what industry we are talking about, as long as the US is leading, and not following behind CHINA! SO IT LOOKS LIKE AMERICA HAS SOME WORK TO DO- AS CHINA IS ALREADY AHEAD OF THE GAME HERE, Because of the politics THE OIL COMPANIES AND THE TRUMPTARDS ARE PLAYING HERE! WE ARE NOW IN THE REARS PLAYING CATCH-UP AND NOT OUT IN FRONT ANYMORE AND BECAUSE OF THE POLITICS AT PLAY!

Look at it this way, the 530,577 EV's being manufactured and sold in those 9 months in America, are 530,577 less EV's we would be buying from China if we didn't make them!

I think the author of this thread is is not seeing the bigger picture.

The big picture is the current deforestation, over fishing, bottom trawling, long line fishing, shark finning, bycatch, poaching, radiation and Chinese chemical pollution. Not what may or may not happen with life-giving CO2 100 years from now. The woke are comatose.
