The Hongqi bridge, just a few months old, was suppose to be an example of Chinese Engineering at it's Best. Instead it is an example of failure. If the Three Gorges Dam ever collapses it will kill over 100,000 people. The Three Gorges Dam is in a earthquake prone area. Many think it will eventually fail too.

The dam is brand new, the reservoir only begun filling in May.....it is highly likely that the geologists were wrong about how the surrounding area would respond to the water and its weight.
