Chris Christie said this weekend that the events leading up to January 6 were "driven

Former Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey gave his take on the events leading up to the January 6 Capitol riot, calling it a process "driven from the top" and "executed by C-team players."

Christie made these comments Sunday in an appearance on ABC News' "This Week" hosted by George Stephanopoulos. The former governor was responding to a comment from Stephanopoulos about a PowerPoint presentation sent by Mark Meadows, then the White House chief of staff, detailing how the Trump team could work to overturn the 2020 US election.

"It seems like, every single day, Chris Christie, we're learning more about what was going inside the White House in those days leading up to January 6," Stephanopoulos said, referring to Meadows' PowerPoint presentation. "It may explain why the former president and his allies are working so hard not to cooperate."

Christie replied that the things being revealed now about the January 6 riot were "driven from the top."

1-6 was a Trump-led attempt to take over the US government by violence. he had a band of anti-American leaders who raised money and set a nasty rally up to incense the Trumpys. This was not serendipitous. It was planned and very dangerous to the continuation of America.
The irony is it was peopled by people who a year or so earlier were saying America was the greatest country in the history of the world. Now they were complicit in an attempted overthrow.

January 6th proved Trump can get away with anything, a third of the nation, and more importantly, a political party and major news network will support and defend him regardless. Unless something happens in between now and then, 2024 will not only be disaster and perhaps the end of American democracy

Christie is lining himself up as the other candidate if Trump stumbles, he’s combative, and appeals to those across the midWest without a college degree that Trump has done well with in key States. He could not win the primary, but is waiting in the wings of for some reason Trump can’t make it
