Retreating to saying that he served as SGM is playing word games.....it happens all the time in the military that someone is off station for one reason or another and someone then lower in rank fills in on a temp basis......they dont have enough honor to straight up admit that they lied....even when caught they will not admit what they have done....these are some extremely shit quality people.

You didn't get that he was promoted to command master sergeant under the assumption that he would serve two more years after being promoted.
He opted to retire and go into politics, so he didn't serve the required time.

So upon retirement he was bumped back to master sergeant.

It's the same as this board knowing that you are a fucking moron, but years after you leave here you'll be fondly remembered simply as a moron.
