Yes that's true, they also have seven nuclear plants left out of seventeen in 2011. They want to get rid of those by next year, that's why they are so anxious to get Nordstream 2 online.

Fracking is every bit as filthy as coal mining. The waste product of burning gas is very clean, though. Fracking wastes millions of gallons of water, and creates toxic waste that has to be dealt with.
