Collateral Damage

I agree; I definitely vote more based on who I think will look out for the greatest # of our people versus emotional issues.* Obviously therefore you can see that I did not vote for Trump. lol I know several who did vote for him, though, based solely on the abortion issue. And that was purely emotional; it had nothing to do with religion as they deliberately ignored his lying, adulterous, cheating, swindling, racist and bullying behaviors in order to do it.

* Except for when Clinton ran the 2nd time I was so disgusted by his non-Presidential behavior that I voted for the (L) candidate.... definitely a decision based more on emotion than rationality.

Sorry, that's a lie. You voted Obama based solely on the emotion you had when a black guy ran.

It would be easy to mock these people as stupid, ignorant, or clannish -- and to some degree, they tend to be those things.

Can you explain the mindset that you would want to mock these people, especially considering the hardships they will be enduring?

Can you explain why you think that voters must be both psychic and selfish?

Can you explain how the benefits of displaced workers under WARN would have been peachy keen for Hillary's Coalminers but not Trump's nail makers?

"Jimmie Coffer, a machine programmer at the nation’s largest nail-making plant, voted for Donald Trump partly because he was confident he would bring manufacturing jobs back to America.

"So the 39-year-old factory worker was shocked last month when 60 of his co-workers were laid off after the Trump administration imposed a 25% tariff on the steel his company imports from Mexico. Now, as his bosses cut back hours and warn they may have to let 200 more workers go in the coming weeks, he worries he may lose his job as a result of the president’s policies.

"But Coffer is still gung-ho about Trump.

"“I support him 100%,” he said last week. “In fact, I’d like to shake his hand. He’s doing a great job.”

"Across Poplar Bluff, a struggling town of 17,000 in a remote pocket of southeast Missouri, many residents are reluctant to criticize Trump as they grapple with the prospect that their community could be one of the trade war’s first casualties.

"“Most workers are behind Trump, no matter what,” said Diane Brogdon, 54, a machine operator who has worked for the company for 12 years.

"Trump won 79% of the vote here in Butler County and, while many were surprised to discover the tariffs are hurting their town, they still believe Trump is on the right track and firmly support his goal of pouring life back into dilapidated manufacturing communities — even if they end up losers."

These people know Trump will protect their jobs by building a wall on the border.

Did I mock them? No. You and countryboy just had knee-jerk reactions. I sincerely wanted to know how they can continue to justify their belief in Twittler, given that his insane bumbling may very well cost them their jobs, their homes, their savings.

Yes you mocked them. You called them "to some degree" "stupid, ignorant, or clannish". Not everyone sees their lot rising or falling with who is President. You however avoided the other two questions:
If this "may very well cost them their jobs, their homes, their savings" and they are afforded the same rights under WARN that Hillary's coal miners would have been, why would Hillary have been a better choice?

They are dumb as dirt, retarded trailer trash. Anyone who supports a Trump as president. Nothing else to say on that score, and nothing to do but insult them and vote the narcissistic clown out of office. THey obviously have never dealt with a high responsibility job requiring a person with extreme competence and chops. They must believe any braggart can come in and do the job well with no adverse consequences. No other explanation.

But that is an ignorant stereotyped and incorrect description of Trump voters. It is the view that drove white working class voters to Trump. His increase in white working class voted for Obama in 2012. I guess they were "dumb as dirt, retarded trailer trash" when they voted for Obama.

Hillary won among the lowest income categories (under $30,000 and $30-50,000). Trump won every income category over $50,000. Trump won among whites with high school education or less and Hillary won the vote among minorities with a high school education or less.

They were about equal in groups with "some college, associate degree, or college degree."

So, Hillary's voters were lower income (although I would never be so elitist by disparaging them as dumb hicks), Trump's voters had higher incomes, they shared about equal numbers of voters with some college or more. Trump won rural areas and suburbs and Hillary won cities over 50,000.

"..the researchers also found that voters in their study who supported Trump generally had a higher mean household income ($81,898) than those who did not ($77,046). Those who approved of Trump were “less likely to be unemployed and less likely to be employed part-time” than those who did not."

Some obviously took Trump's win so hard they have to denigrate his voters, even if they lie about their true characteristics.

I am not a Trump supporter or defender, but I can easily understand why others were driven to him because of the way they were described by resentful Democrats. I am not defending the views of Trump voters, but I am critical of those who look down on them just as some look down on blacks, Hispanics, gays, immigrants. It is the need to think you are better than somebody else. We have let partisan politics rule our lives with hate.

Don't forget racist. Trump voters = racist to her. Hell, even non Trump voters are racist to her if you are on the right.

County or two away from where I grew up. Could not stay.

I watched alot of liberals do the same thing as obama policies harmed them, directly, but still support him. there are idiots in every group.

1. At 37%, Missouri is the Blackest State in the Union.

2. Why is this company buying its steel from Mexico and not the USA?

3. Why did Owlperson choose to live with a bunch of white racists for 55 years?

And the one group which has consistently voted against their own interests has been blacks.

Blacks have consistently voted for Democrats for decades—the black vote is over 90% Democrat in many elections. And what do they have to show for it?
