College Football is back!

Washington Huskies. Undefeated PAC 12 champs and contenders for the national championship. Oh, lets not forget Michael Penix Jr., Huskies QB and top contender for the Heisman!

I think that most of the Conference championship games were yesterday,
although I didn't watch any of them.

Still, I hope that our football fans enjoyed them.
Were they for the most part good?

It's going to be Mich ,Wash,Alabama and Texas
They will not leave out an undefeated FSU. Ohio State established the precedent when they were selected as the 4th team in the first CFP and were the only 1 loss conference champs and had the 4th best Record at 12-1. The talking heads all over radio and ESPN were adamant that OSU was down to their 3rd string QB, had played a weak schedul, blah, blah, blah. The CFP chose OSU who then went on to convincingly win the National Championship.

The hard reality is Bama lost to Texas and they will not choose Alabama over Texas or an undefeated FSU. If there’s any consolation Bama will leap frog OSU for the #5 spot and will probably play the Buckeyes in the Orange Bowl.

Don’t forget Mott.

Nope not me. I had the flu last Saturday and I fell asleep after the first QTR. Day is going to feel a lot of heat next season. 3 losses in a row to those Northern Stink Weasels isn’t sitting well here in Cbus. He has a great over all record so he’s still a long way off from getting fired. Right now I’m just bummed we’re not playing UGA or Bama in a NYD Bowl game. Oregon will be a good opponent though.

College football remains an abomination.
At least that's one bad habit with which I'm not afflicted.

I think the last game that I watched was Harvard-Yale several years ago.
That featured real college students,
people who could speak grammatically correct English--other languages too--
playing college football.

If I need to watch good football,
which I rarely do,
I'll watch a good NFL matchup.

The current Patriots, of course, make that unnecessary.

Subjectively choosing the best four teams for the playoff is idiotic.
Subjectivity shouldn't come into play except if two or more teams have identical records.

Otherwise, the teams with the best records earned their way in, regardless of how people rank them subjectively.
This is where the most enthusiastic college football fans usually disagree with me.

If there were, for example, four teams with perfect records, all four of them should be in the tournament,
regardless of which FBS conference they're from
and which FBS conference champions are left out.

It's never been that way.
I doubt that it ever will be that way.
Thus, I'm glad that I'm not into the sport or I'd be pissed about it.

I just noticed that CFM is blocked on this thread.

We really need to bring Banjofuck back, at least for a while..

The current group of idiots is getting boring.
