When I was in the US Navy and stationed in VA and SC, I was still a resident of Alabama.

If the students make a given state their residence, and get off the out-of-state student rolls, they can vote in that state's elections. Otherwise they need to do an absentee ballot or make a trip home to vote.

not in ca, if you live here you can vote here, although if you live here for more than 30 days you are required to get a ca drivers license, if you drive that is

When I was stationed there at the Presidio of Monterey I was a resident of Colorado. When I was stationed in Maryland at Fort Meade I was still a resident of Colorado. I voted in Colorado elections by absentee ballot. If a student chooses not to be a resident and to maintain residency status in their previous state their DL would be valid.

sorry, the exception for the drivers license rule is if you are in the military

as for a student maintaining residence and dl in another state, i am not familiar with that exception in ca

All Republicans should be required to fill out absentee ballots no matter what. Only Democrats should be allowed at polling booths. If Republicans are too stupid to fill out an absentee ballot, that's their fault, right? No unfairness in this system.

LOL nice. Your logic is so stupid it makes my head hurt trying to follow it. Can you explain how you got there?

LOL, righties seem to be all in favor of burdensome government regulations if those rules hurt Obama...

LOL, your link fails to substantiate your claim.

So how many Washingtonians eschew voting at the polls and vote by mail using an absentee ballot? Do you know?

Scroll up to the top of the screen on the link, and take not of the orange color for both WA and Oregon. Yeah.

Fuck, even if you don't scroll up to the map, it points out that both states mail EVERY VOTER a ballot and don't provide precinct polling booths. That said, I'm fairly certain that its not entire true, because there are usually places within at least King County where people can go the antequated route and locate a polling station, because my mom has volunteered at one station on Highway 99 (or Aurora, for us Seattleites).
