Colorado Springs - What Republicans Want for the Country

Actually, as the article points out (particularly the parts of it that you refused to post) the city of Colorado Springs is facing unique challenges due to its vehemently tax averse population.

Yet liberal tardation nation Cali has a the highest hurdles for new taxes. LOL

i did not leave that out to decieve anyone like you did in the OP, it had nothing to do with your dishonest portrayal of the article and the problem...

once again, you're nothing but a dishonest hack

Cherrypicking, while ignoring the totality of facts presented, is by its very nature dishonest.

Bush knew all about that. Since he's your hero & all, it's all very understandable...

i didn't refuse to post it, it had nothing to do with your lies

those problems are not unique to colorado springs because of republican policies you dishonest hack. the article does not state that, and in fact blames the economy for the bulk of the cuts, just as it has done across the state and nation.

you're a pathetic liar dungheap

That's a strawman. Insanely high taxes is just hyperbole on your part. We have historically low tax levels in the US and when low taxes cause spending cuts it is the programs that impact the poor and working classes (not the wealthy) that are the first to be cut. The author of the article is essentially correct. How low are they willing to go with out basic services? As is typical in these cases, it will take some sort of disaster, exploding crime rates, streets filled with trash or mass public school closings before changes are made but then again, these are the kinds of services your typical libertarian feels government has no business serving, that is until it affects them.
They are simply getting what they voted for. Tax increases must be voted on by the population here due to the TABOR amendment, they were proposed and rejected. So, this is exactly what people in CO Springs voted for...

Seriously, I don't see what the big deal is. How long will they go that way? Well, until the population there supports either an increase in taxation or the economy returns to a high-growth position.

I agree and, as the old saying goes, you get the government you deserve.

It's because conservatives have managed to convince voters that the government is a huge black hole and there's lots of free unnecessary spending everywhere that will magically balance things out. Of course, they do things like this, and those magical spending cuts don't seem to exist.

So you've got nothing to say on the Colorado Springs experiment? I thought you would applaud it. Instead you point to California and its Republican governors for 23 of the last 27 years as some sort of Democratic paradise?

Nice deflection.

LMAO..... CA has been run by a very liberal State House and Senate for the past several decades. You have an odd sense of how to apply BUDGETS.... they are PASSED by the legislature and signed by the executive.

And NO... I don't have anything to say about you finding one conservative city that is currently in a financial crisis.

Really? Hyperbole? Tell that to the Residents of CA who are paying over 9% (which is every dollar over $48k) state income taxes all for the pleasure of watching their state go bankrupt.

I look forward to seeing the results.....if it works, hopefully it will go federal.....

Bullshit? That California has an unstable system of government? It's not. Giving voters a direct route to making laws turned out to be the worst idea of the century. They're way worse than even the worse legislator.

that has nothing to do with the state's liberal policies tanking the state coffers....:palm:
