Combat brigades in Iraq under different name

As the final convoy of the Army’s 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Lewis, Wash., entered Kuwait early Thursday, a different Stryker brigade remained in Iraq.

Soldiers from the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division are deployed in Iraq as members of an Advise and Assist Brigade, the Army’s designation for brigades selected to conduct security force assistance.

So while the “last full U.S. combat brigade” have left Iraq, just under 50,000 soldiers from specially trained heavy, infantry and Stryker brigades will stay, as well as two combat aviation brigades.
...

There are seven Advise and Assist Brigades in Iraq, as well as two additional National Guard infantry brigades “for security,” said Army spokesman Lt. Col. Craig Ratcliff.

Last year, the Army decided that rather than devote permanent force structure to the growing security force assistance mission, it would modify and augment existing brigades.

The Army has three different standard brigade combat teams: infantry, Stryker and heavy. To build an Advise and Assist Brigade, the Army selects one of these three and puts it through special training before deploying.

this exactly what i was saying....but oh no...hacks like onceler had attack me instead of learning facts...

LOL

Yurt - all of the designations & announcements have to do with the function of the troops there & mission; not what their training & capabilities are.

Typical stuff out of you....

i knew you wouldn't admit you're wrong...you never do, even in the face of FACTS

any honest person can read the article and see that two combat brigades are staying and that the other brigades are still there, just under a different name

I wasn't wrong, at all. On the other thread, I stated specifically that this is about their purpose, not their training.

It's just another situation where you look like an idiot, so you're flailing your arms & distorting again....

bullshit...you said i was wrong and that you're smarter than me when i put forth this notion earlier....

fact is: combat brigades are in fact staying and the other soldiers are simply changing the name....

you claim this wasn't so and in fact mocked me

I bumped the other thread. Sorry it's more egg on your face, but you kinda asked for it.

What's their mission?

you mocked me for saying any combat brigades would stay....

now you look like a fool and are dishonestly trying to change what you earlier claimed...

its pathetic and quite honestly, i'm tired of your bullshit and inability to simply admit you're wrong

You have lied repeatedly about what I said, and what I was making fun of you for.

That's really all you do these days.

bump for those who still don't think there are combat brigades in iraq

And I'll be sure to bump it a year from now when there are no reports of combat, anywhere in Iraq.

But then I'm sure you'll be writing about a MSM conspiracy to cover it up, and calling anyone who denies that delusional (and a hack).

LOL

:palm:

stop lying about what i've said....seriously, its getting old

what i claimed is: the admin is wrong to claim teh "last" of the combat brigades are home...they are not, the army times says TWO combat aviation brigades are staying and the other combat brigades have simply been renamed advisors....so....as the article said....they are STILL there

i hope do you bump it in a year, or every month....your idiocy is mildly entertaining

What's their mission?

Yurt - if you agree that combat ops are over, and that no clandestine war will be waged...what exactly is your point?

for the simple minded YET again, seriously, your reading comprehension is totally lacking:

that obama is lying that combat brigades are all home...you can have combat brigades and not have war. they are there in CASE of hostile activities or whatnot...it is simply changing words to call them advisors and the article clearly states TWO aviation combat brigades are staying....

why you can't call obama out on that is puzzling, you've done so before, yet you're oddly hyper partisan on this and i think its just because you like to argue with me and never admit you're wrong. you do this solely because you think it bothers me.....you live to annoy to people, it gets you off

unfortunately, its just a yawner...but since i like to debate and its occasionally to always prove you wrong....

using onceler's logic....he is "ignoring" this post because he is scared of it
