Combat troops leaving Iraq

Hannity is talking about it right now and showing still pictures.....obviously not getting video from the asshole at MSNBC

let's see Desh has been gone for awhile from the site and we haven't had a (stupid) discussion over Fox, CNN and MSNBC until she shows up again. Coincidence? I think not.

This is about troops coming home.

Fox jsut doesnt see that as important as the other news stations.

You righties seem almost depressed about it.

LMAO! You, not surprisingly, are trying to turn this into a partisan thing. Who is upset? I haven't seen one negative comment.

No more war in Iraq.

This is what brought me to you people and all these years later it is over
The war is over. Bush has the deaths of over 4000 US soldiers on his hands and tens of thousands of innocent civilians. How he sleeps at night with all that blood on his hands is beyond me. Our long national nightmare is over. Obama has ended this immoral war of aggression. God bless our troops who bore this sacrifice for our nation and God Bless the USA!

Dude this is the best news we have had in this country in seven years
That is the truth. This is agreat day. Peace has broken out. What are all the poor little chicken hawks going to do now?

Watch out chicken hawks! Their may be a mushroom cloud in your back yard from some evil Iraqi! LOL

While I am certainly glad the troops are coming home, Obama had little to do with it. It was the surge that he (and many on the left) opposed that helped provide the breakthrough (yes, the Sunni uprising was a huge factor as well) that allowed the combat troops to come home.

I know you and others on the left would have preferred the Iraqi people continue starving to death under Saddam, would have preferred they also continue to be raped and murdered by members of his regime, and would prefer to continue to pretend that we could 'contain' him in a box forever... all this despite the fact that our continued presence in the middle east (especially in Saudi) was a major point of grievance that Al Queda used as an excuse to attack us.

This is not to say that Bush handled anything well. He FUBAR'ed the situation from the start... Hyping WMDs, lacking any type of coherent plan, lacking an exit strategy, going into Iraq before Afghanistan was done etc... but you go ahead and keep on living in your fantasy world. In reality, the world is better not having that lunatic in charge in Iraq. The Iraqi people now have the opportunity of self-determination. They can choose their own course.

Welcome home troops. We appreciate all that you have done.

LMAO... yeah... and :

1) "the surge won't work"

2) "civil war will tear Iraq apart"

I agree that everyone is better off with Saddam out of power, and disagree with your characterization that many would have "preferred" the abuses under his regime.

We just got through with a 7+ year war, SF, that drained us on every level - manpower, money, influence, you name it. There are plenty of situations in the world where there are abusive environments, and oppressed populations. How would you feel about embarking on similar military ventures to try to end those situations? If you wouldn't support that, are you then "preferring" those abusive, oppressed situations?
