Oh, I don't know. Because the city is run like the Mafia and he didn't pay his protection money in advance?

The man said he forgot to pay and the city decided that his forgetfulness would cost him his property and his house pets.

It wasn't about the money.
Thats 'tough love' honey.....its the only way to teach liberal pinhead freeloaders that they are responsible for their actions.....

You think you're gonna buy $10 million in life insurance for MaMa and hour after she dies.....?
Maybe purchase some healthcare insuransce after your sickness is discovered.....????? .....:palm:

sorry pinhead, it just don't work that way.

Because it all stinks to high heaven. What happens when this department gets an alarm, does someone run to the computer and bring up a database that shows who did or didn't pay, and if payment wasn't received they still suit up and drive to the scene so they can stand there and (figuratively) say "nyah, nyah, loser"?
I doubt very seriously that the firemen stood there and went 'nyah, nyah, loser'.

The man said he forgot to pay this year. Nobody from the city came forth and said "Cranick's a liar, he's never paid for any year", which would support their claim that he was just avoiding payment.
read the comment below.

My opinion is, you save the property and animals on humanitarian grounds and argue the details later. But the whole business about checking records before responding reeks.

your opinion flies in the face of governmental reality. As I told the idiot TaiChi, government is not benevolent, it is not logical, and it is not in the business of humanitarianism. Had those firemen done what YOU consider the right thing and one of them got hurt, I GUARANTEE that he'd have been screwed over by the city for NOT FOLLOWING POLICY!!!!!!!!!!

This is something you 'liberals' refuse to understand, that government is there to help you. It is not. It is there to cover it's ass and avoid spending as much money as possible. It doesn't care who it screws over in the process.

The 'city' is exactly like any other city in this nation. It has rules and policies and procedures that it must follow for 'legal' reasons. This is because people like you and dixie (and every other pro government individual) wants government to do what right but will crucify them when they do something you don't like, so you sue them and then the courts have to protect them. It still costs them money. THEN the politicians have to worry about their cushy jobs because all the money that they have to pay out then gets added to the taxes on the people and nothing pisses off people more than having to pay higher taxes.

so yes indeed, it was about the money.

If the bolded part is true then why do Conservatives like to constantly remind everyone that our country was founded on Christian principles?

"Christian Principles" say that helping those in need is always the right course of action.

Those firefighters showed exactly how willing "fair weather" Christians are to abandon their "faith" when it suits them.

Maybe I missed it but has it been shown anywhere that these firefighters were Christian?

Just curious to your opinion. I'm a non-denominational Christian. I believe in God. I believe in Heaven. I went to church as a kid but in the last 20 years have only gone for weddings and the occassional Christmas and Easter.

I live in San Francisco which has lots of poor and homeless people. I walk by many of them each day and I don't give them money, I don't offer them my clothes and I don't offer them a place to sleep in my home. Does that make me a non-Christian or a fake Christian?

I come out of a supermarket with bags of goodies and steaks and ribs and a homeless guy outside said, "Mister, I haven't eaten all day"....
I looked at him and said, "I wish I had your will power".....

According to those figures, 98.1% of citizens self identify as Christians.

No definitive proof, but the odds seem to favor my viewpoint.

If you can't see the difference between walking past a panhandler on the street and firefighters, whose mandate it is to put out fires, standing by while a structure burns, then there's no point in continuing.

Like liberals....they lie.

epic fail. those firefighters followed the policies set out by their bosses. You're still not blaming their bosses. why can't you lay the blame on government where it rightly belongs?

you have the city fire department policy manual that states that their mandate is to put out fires, no matter where the fire is?

Where in the mission statement or the oath does it say services will be provided only upon receipt of a fee?

Please post your info showing that the Cranicks were liberals.

Fees and insurance are two different things. The Cranicks had fire insurance.

Got it, meathead?

They think it's funny. :(
I don't understand this kind of humor, regardless of what you think or how you judge, that man is still a human. How can they talk God and country and then act in such a manner.

The man could be a vet with a mental illness for all he knows, but he would never take the time to ask how the man came to be in this situation, people think it is just laziness, but often times it is multiple reasons and complex.

Thats like asking me to prove water is wet.
You don't need any "proof".....ALL pinhead freeloaders are liberal....and visa versa......especially visa versa.

Fees ? Insurance ? Thats not the point.

The point is, some purchases are time dependent.....it too late to contract with a fire company for fire protection after your house starts to burn.
Have some six year old to explain it to you....

How do you live with yourself?
I met a fairy today that would grant me one wish.

I told her I wanted to live forever,

"Sorry" said the fairy, "I'm not allowed to grant wishes like that!"

"Fine," I said, "I want to die after the Democrats get their heads out of their asses!"

to which to fairy replied, "You crafty bastard"
