What part of my agreement with your opinion "reeks" of that? The reality is, it is legal to marry a 16 year old boy or girl with the permission of the parents. I agree that it should be changed, but the reality does not reflect that. Espousing the view to do something that is legal is not the same thing as raping pre-pubescent children. It simply isn't.In your opinion.
In most people's minds, a girl should not be denied the right to finish school...and to have birth control...and sides, everyone knows that the push for 15 makes getting it down to 9 easier.
Sorry, but your argument reeks of double standards on the NAMBLA case...you don't like it for boys with men...but you're okay and fine with men and underage girls.
Your arguments rely on a presumption of opinion that doesn't exist, it is easy to argue that way because you get to pretend that other people's opinions are whatever you find easy to argue against, it is the classic straw man argument and a fallacy of logic.
I personally believe we should change the laws to reflect current knowledge of human development. Men and women of that age are simply undeveloped in the prefontal lobe.. We need to change the age from an arbitrary number of "adulthood" to one that considers the capacity to understand the consequences and weight of such decisions.
