Congress restarts electoral count Wednesday night after mob stormed Capitol

(CNN)Congress resumed its counting of the Electoral College votes just after 8 p.m. ET Wednesday evening after the process of declaring President-elect Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 election was abruptly halted when rioters incited by President Donald Trump breached the Capitol and forced the House and Senate to be evacuated.

Lawmakers in both parties made clear they were determined to finish the count following the chaos at the US Capitol, which delayed the proceedings for more than five hours while lawmakers were forced into lockdown by a pro-Trump mob that overran US Capitol Police.

I think there was a very real realization that the Frankenstein monster can’t be controlled and his cult is out of control.

The Republican Party must determine if the Cult of Trump is the future or if it must be turn its back on the Qanut faction and its willingness to destroy our Republic.

I think you are right. The smart Republicans are starting to figure out that being subservient to Trump is not worth it.

Trump cost them the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the White House.

Even Fox and Friends turned on Trump today.

They even bandied about the idea of invoking the 25th on #TRE45ON. I hope that they are still considering this.

And I hope that we never see something like this ever again.

General Mathias came out with a statement saying Trump is responsible. There will be more statements like this.

Trump was totally deflated last night.

His power and grip on America is fading fast now.

All too soon we will be making fun of past tense Trump in a more intense way than we treat W. And few will be foolish enough to go on defending Trump. They will be too busy attacking Biden and upcoming Democratic legislation. Now that control of both houses and the executive is shifting to the Democratic Party, Trump will fade into an embarrassing Republican mistake of the past.

Republicans will try to make valid points, but they will be undermined simply by mentioning the T word, which they will grow very tired of hearing.
