let's start with the fundamentals....once this act passes no policies of insurance may be offered that are not designed and approved by the federal government....

now, what would you say if the same were true for say.....washing machines......or clothing.....or newspapers?.....

Washing machines have to meet govt standards, so does clothing, Autos, electrical appliances, medicine, food, etc.
But health insurance should not have to meet certain standards?

If I decide to make clothing that is blue instead of red, because I think people would like to buy blue clothing, I can do it....]

if I want to offer an insurance plan which doesn't include the government's list of "essential benefits", or varies from their three tiered coverage options, I can't do it.....everybody's insurance will be red.....

Blue clothing won't kill people and cost tax payers money, and it's also not a moral outrage.

Analogy=failed.
 
Health reform will accomplish four things to give every American more security and stability.

Reform will help people without insurance access quality, affordable coverage, bring skyrocketing costs under control, make Medicare more efficient so we are helping our seniors instead of padding insurance company profits, and provide every American basic consumer protections by holding insurance companies accountable.

insurance policies don't kill people either....and if tax payers are buying the clothing for people, it does cost them money, whether the clothing is blue or red.....

This is one of the more stupid things you've ever said. How many people die every year in America because they can't get their insurance to cover life saving treatment? You want to say 0? Is that your guess?

A moral imperative by any measure, a better system is also essential to rebuilding our economy after the disastrous Bush-induced depression President Obama inherited.
