Corona virus update

I am for an easing of restrictions based on science. Not one based on politics. We are not ready for restaurants, schools or such to open yet.

What science? The "experts" haven't been right about this virus or their predictions yet. #hack

I'm very pleased to see that the number of cases and deaths is not as severe as projected early on during the pandemic. They are still horrendous, but social distancing measures have really succeeded in keeping the toll down. I hope we are smart about the re-opening business.

There's no point in reopening now, it's too late.

If Trump were to do the right thing, the thing he already claimed he did, then many would know early when they carried the disease and they could quarantine and do their best not to share the virus. The transmission rate would drop radically and those who tested negative could avoid being in quarantine. Instead, we all had to assume we had it and stay home for much of March and April, destroying the marginal economy we had. Now we are facing opening up without proper testing and facing the possibility of a new surge of infections, because we do not know who has it or not.

Look at what South Korea did, we should have done that.

This is going to be with us through the year, and into 2021 until a vaccine is developed. And even then, we will still need mass testing and contract tracing because there's no way there will be 330,000,000 vaccines once it is developed.

We can be comforted by the fact that you are a mentally retarded, leftist loon who has never been right about anything.

But continue to stay hunkered down in your mom's basement. We'll tell you when it is safe to come out. ;)

When its an emergency because some huge percent of Americans cant go two weeks without a paycheck... thats not a good economy.

Two weeks? You're such a dishonest asshole. This started more than 45 days ago dumbass. Now the loons in the Party of the Jackass are talking about the end of May. By then, they won't have ANY tax revenue coming in and will begin furloughing Government union members.

I can't wait to see that.

We are not. The Americans pushed for a reopening in 1918, just like this and the next phase of flu was the deadliest of the 3 waves. We don't learn much.

We've been told over and over and over that the capitalist "free market" is agile and can adapt to any market condition.

But the same people who say that are also screaming that we need to oPeN tHe EcOnOmY because it will collapse if we don't.
