The Americans were in charge. We moved to China for cheap unprotected labor and no environmental laws. The American companies were ruling. We moved lock, stock, and intellectual property. China is not stupid, they insisted that we keep Chinese college grads up close so they could learn how to do it. Now they have some say so. They also stole all they could. But on the bright side ,some wealthy America owners made a ton of money.
The people who make things are the people who innovate. Our corporations gave that away. The products of the future are in china. They are way ahead of us in alternative energy, computers, and many more industries. We are being left behind now.
Note we are concerned about empty shelves in America due to Corona. They make nearly everything. But some American owners made a lot of money.
