Could A Good God Permit So Much Suffering?

In my opinion yes. Free will is everything and without it we would be like honey bees or carpenter ants.
…but if you don’t know you don’t have free will seems like it would be ok.

Ironically science is finding some evidence that what we think of as free will isn’t really real. Still tbd tho’

Free will is rather meaningless concept. Too vague to be debated.

It may be ok with the person but not with what god intended for us when he decided to give us a go.

I have heard about that and to me it seems pretty far fetched. Has a worker bee ever gone on strike and said fuck this? That is how no free will works.

The fact that you perceive are there universal, objective standards of absolute good and absolute evil
Your qualifier "absolute" is discarded. While I have objective standards for good and evil that are rooted in thermodynamics, that fact is totally irrelevant to the fact that I have the concept of good and evil.

is used by theologians to say your conscience is guided by more than just Darwinian evolution and the electrochemical motions of electrons in your brain tissue.
Of course, I don't care what theologians say. There are no objective standards for what guides any human beyond the electrochemical motions of electrons in brain tissue (and other nerves).

You are inadvertently making the case for theism.
You have inadvertently undermined any rational case for theism.

Otherwise, as an atheist you would have to conclude right and wrong is a matter of opinion or social conversation,
Nope. Good is creation and/or an increase in usable potential while evil is destruction and/or the reduction of usable potential.

If you're ever in court on a misdemeanor or felony charge, feel free to explain to the judge you don't have free will ...
If you are ever in court facing charges, feel free to explain to the jurors that your destruction of property and/or your taking of a life is your way of creating something better.

God could make humans all happy....but?!
gfm7175 has a great answer for this. I will obviously defer to him for his official answer, but my understanding of his take is that we are only alive for an infinitesimally brief moment in time relative to eternity, and God utilizes this time to expose us to adversity and other unpleasantries so that we can appreciate being free from such evils for eternity. This is why Christian dogma emphasizes following Christian doctrine so as to avoid having to endure such evils for eternity.

Well, eternity is another concept with no experiential validity. Another made up concept by fearful people.
