Cool. Has no relevance to State Capitalism (what the US is competing with in Today's World), 'Sovereign Wealth Funds', or the US supporting 'Champion Industries' (like American Tech Companies).
Is Norway and the Europeans 'Fascists'? Is that your contention?

I dunno. Did those countries try to illegally use their government resources to target political opponents? Recent Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto was actually quite notorious for spying on journalists and opponents. Interesting that his presidency coincided with Obama's.

At the local level, I'm not all that opposed to the concept of private-public partnerships. Generally, though, I am not a fan of it at the state level (it is technically an element of fascism) or of state-owned corporations

Like the Federal Reserve, I would think it removed from political manipulation.
 
Bill starts an interesting and topical Discussion about 'State Capitalism', and you bring up some lame conspiracy theory.
The US and the West are in a 'Cultural War' with China, Russia, and the Middle East. It's all based on 'Economic Power'. Who will dominate the Future. China has a Vision and Plans on being that Cultural Super Power of the Future. They plan on using 'State Capitalism' to get there. When Private Enterprise goes into Business with the State, anything is Possible. (think putting a Man on the Moon)
Anyway, the Leaders of China, Russia, and the Middle East want to thank you for being hunkered down in your parochial issues ... while they Plan Conquest of the Future.

What conspiracy theory?
 
The most efficient government is a benign dictatorship. If the leader sees something that will benefit his country, he can order it to be done. Like alternative energy. The Chinese went into solar, wind and nuclear technology and manufacturing. They did not have to answer to a fossil fuel industry. The lobbying power and money was irrelevant. It was done and they are way ahead of us.
They are moving to electric cars. The ICE manufacturers have no sayso.

China has built an enormous and advanced educational system. They are graduating millions of engineers and mathematics students. They are building more while we are looting our students.
