The victim is The First Amendment if this thing keeps going where it's headed - Trump saying networks should be shut down for criticizing him.Carr should have shut up and stood back. There is no "order" given on a podcast, but chiming in poisoned the fruit. ABC would have let the guy go without him going on some podcast with "the hard way or the easy way" nonsense, and now that he has the left is pretending that Kimmel is the victim rather than the guy that got shot for his opinion, Kimmel just got fired for being a dick. He's still rich, he's still alive, and he's still out there telling us all he's the victim.
Amazing, Ted has been afraid of Trump for years, what’s happening?GOP Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday denounced Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr’s threats to pull ABC’s broadcast license as “unbelievably dangerous” and compared some of his rhetoric to “mafioso” tactics.
In an episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” released on Friday, the Texas Republican said he was “thrilled” Jimmy Kimmel was pulled off the air by ABC over his comments about conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. But he said he strongly disagreed with the government policing speech, asserting it could come back to bite conservatives when Democrats retake power.

Cruz is more willing to stand up for the Constitution than you! That’s saying something, you should be embarrassed!Carr should have shut up and stood back. Maybe he is waking up and is seeing Trump is trying to run this country like a dictatorship.Amazing, Ted has been afraid of Trump for years, what’s happening?
Hahaha, he’s known that for at least a decade.Maybe he is waking up and is seeing Trump is trying to run this country like a dictatorship.
Taking away the freedom of speech is one of the first steps a want to be dictator does.
Knowing it and realizing what is going on are two different things, Like I said maybe he is FINALLY waking up.Hahaha, he’s known that for at least a decade.
It's definitely weird times when Ted Cruz is the voice of reason.GOP Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday denounced Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr’s threats to pull ABC’s broadcast license as “unbelievably dangerous” and compared some of his rhetoric to “mafioso” tactics.

Agreed. It's all about the money and forming a media mega-corporation that exceeds FCC standards. It was about a merger that Nextar, a media conglomerate of ABC affiliates needed FCC approval for. They knew Carr wouldn't approve it if they didn't fire Kimmel, @Damocles .
Someone is incapable of comprehension, will they apologize? This post was after the one below.... When he read it, did he even delete the post? Nope. He'll say it somewhere else later too, because he wants to believe it so badly that he can taste it, so he will without reserve.Cruz is more willing to stand up for the Constitution than you! I'm agreeing with Cruz. Carr is a moron.
Are you a trumper?Someone is incapable of comprehension, will they apologize? This post was after the one below.... When he read it, did he even delete the post? Nope. He'll say it somewhere else later too, because he wants to believe it so badly that he can taste it, so he will without reserve.
What would that have to do with this? You quoted my post, and said something about me. To which you respond with this inane question. Are you a trumper?
Because this post is directed at Trumper’sWhat would that have to do with this? You quoted my post, and said something about me. To which you respond with this inane question.
What would change if I was? You still would have made a claim about me, quoting a post of mine, to which evidence in the same thread you made the claim existed to the opposite.
I did predict you would not apologize or recognize the mistake. You should just double down now and pretend you didn't see it.
I did not make a mistake. Your arrogance forces you to believe I did, I did not.Because this post is directed at Trumper’s
No it was not. You quoted my post, and said something about me, did not mention "trumpers".Because this post is directed at Trumper’s
My mistake, I was confused as to what thread I was posting in…. You are correct, my apologies. I do make mistakes.Someone is incapable of comprehension, will they apologize? Carr is an idiot, and Cruz is playing the long game here. He’s right that Democrats will go after Republicans in the future.Carr should have shut up and stood back. There is no "order" given on a podcast, but chiming in poisoned the fruit. Sooooo......either MAGAts are really, really stupid or they really, really believe the Democrats will never be allowed to take power in an autocratic, one-party nation.Carr is an idiot, and Cruz is playing the long game here. He’s right that Democrats will go after Republicans in the future.
Nobody is 100% consistent, but groups like the old-school ACLU that defended speech they hated don’t really exist today. Jon Stewart for example, talks passionately against government interference in free speech but his support rarely extends to conservatives. That’s probably also a business decision since his audience leans heavily liberal.
