de-dollarization

i dont think he was talking about some utopian term used to make americans think excessive globalization is ok, like "post-industrial society" or "consumer society"... "post scarcity society" is another of one of those terms.
What do you have against a "consumer society"? Being against consumers striving for more goods and services muddies your point so that you have no point.

its a fantasy land of lopsided thinking, the normalization of ignorance.

When will it start?
US dollar index posts steepest first-half decline since 1973 amid trade fragmentation and geopolitical tensions

By Bahattin Gonultas, Nuran Erkul, and Emir Yildirim
11.07.2025

Since the start of the year, the dollar has declined more than 12% against the euro, led by Trump’s policies that have narrowed the US trade deficit but raised concerns over rising borrowing costs.

New regulations are being made in the US to bring dollar-backed stablecoins — a type of cryptocurrency — to the masses worldwide, which could be seen as a faster and more pragmatic tool to manage US debt.
-----------------------------------

What is the biggest difference between 1973 and 2025?

We definitely have a better standard of living than in 1973, though higher education is becoming far less possible than it was back then.
A working-class family could have one parent stay home to raise kids and still afford to buy a house. There was less use of credit cards, therefore less personal debt. I could find a better job in less than an hour if needed. Few folk were dependent on government.

That was Hawkeye. No one can predict economics. The dollar has competition now and that will hurt the US economy and Wall Street. It could take 10 years but eventually it will happen.
every fiat currency system fails.

that's a stone cold bet and has always happened.

the rulers of the world repeatedly kill vast numbers of people and take their stuff,,,, over and over.

The Soviet Union went through decades of economic decline yet chose not to fire off their nukes during its dissolution. I doubt the US will show the same civility.

Some call it doom and gloom while others live in reality.

China, India and South Africa are among the countries that have started to internationalize their currencies. Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) have also been developed to help speed up settlements of cross-border transactions. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF),8 as of July 2022, there were nearly 100 CBDCs in research or development stages, and two have been fully launched. Many countries are testing these digital currencies with the aim, among others, of using them in trade transactions in their own currencies. CBDCs can potentially reduce their countries’ reliance on the dollar in addition to digitalizing financing.

NATO and the EU are bankrupt yet still think Russia will be the country to collapse because they're way too civilized to use nukes. I can't remember the last time empire was right about anything.

Yes, and if we somehow avoid that end we are to be slaves living miserable lives.
