Dear White Evangelicals,

First I want to say why I put this here, rather than the "religion" forum.

Because you, well many/most of you are about politics, not religion.

So while you claim to be "Christ like", it aint Jesus you're rePing here, it's trump..

Most, if not all of you won't be convicted, mostly because you are even afraid to read it..

He/she who has ears let them hear:cool:

Fuckstick, you do of course realize that evangelicals didn't put Trump in the White House...right?

You giving me options??
I see the common thread amongst moron snowflakes is a heavy lack of education. The technical word for what I asked is a "question."

Are you a "victim" or were you virtue signalling when you posted that article. It is either one or the other.

Should be noted that polling routinely indicates 20 to 25 percent of white Evangelical Protestants affiliate with the Democratic Party.

On the other hand, I do not think we will make significant advances in public education, medical science, and particle physics if we leave things up to bible thumpers.

They are taking the USA backwards and they want a king just like the one the country fought a revolution to be rid of. Living in a Democracy confuses and scares the crap out of them and they have no respect for the founding fathers nor the founding documents they created. They are a dying breed and they know it so they want to destroy what they cannot actually ever understand...genuine patriotism and living in a society that leaves no one behind. There is a reason why they prefer a selfish POS as a standard bearer as it is refection of their own nature and essence.

I recall that line, back during the war in SouthEast Asia...... What they meant was support the war or leave.

Like the bush jr folks did- support the troops=supporting bush's invasions....... Not supporting the invasions=not supporting the troops...

A chimp could see the game, unfortunately a lot of American humans couldn't........

Pass me some freedumb fries.....

I remember that as a bumper sticker seen everywhere during the VN War. And you're right -- protesting an invalid, pointless war has come to mean the same as hating soldiers. That's how they try to shut down dissent.

So well said. Thank you.

In principle I agree that large numbers of Protestant fundamentalists are hostile to secular government, public education, scholarship and science.

On the flip side, I always remind myself that Christians who actually practice the social gospel, and particularly the Christian left, have a long history of being at the forefront of slavery abolition, civil rights, social justice, economic justice. Another tangent: we would not even recognize modern science without the commitment of the Jesuits, Dominicans, and other Catholic orders to science and scholarship. I make it a point to remember that the Catholic monk Gregor Mendel is considered the father of genetics, and the 19th century's most preminent physicist James Maxwell was a Protestant evangelical.

What tends to be offensive are the bible thumpers like the Falwells, Olsteens, and mega churches of the USA. They are preaching a prosperity gospel and version of personal salvation that I doubt Jesus of Nazareth would actually recognize.

Agreed, but the key word there is history. Now, I suspect that some (not all) evangelicals would flock to the Antichrist if he promised to grant their wishes. With Trump they're practicing.

May I point out that Galileo and Newton were not in Catholic orders.

the 1619 project is from your side, idiot. that's where the lack of respect for the founding fathers is.

it's like you just fell off a turnip truck.

I agree that there is a strong- but not universal - strain of ignorance in American Protestant evangelicalism. Earlier I made the point that Jimmy and Roslyn Carter are evangelical Christians.

Correct, Newton and Galileo were not Jesuits or Dominicans. Galileo was a devout Catholic who got caught up in the tumultuous and toxic religious politics of the counter-reformation.

Newton was a deeply religious man who was driven by his faith to discover the natural laws the creator made for the universe. Though his religious views were unconventional by the Anglican standards of the day. By the standards of modern science, I do not really even consider Newton a scientist. He is more accurately regarded perhaps as the last great mystic of the pre-modern age. Much, if not most of his research was on alchemy, astrology , and the occult.

As for Einstein, he was perhaps an agnostic, with maybe some deist tendencies.

Modern 21st century science is largely divorced from any direct connection to theology. But western science and the western tradition of scholarly scepticism directly owes its legacy to the philosophical and intellectual traditions of western Christianity

Sadly that is all he has, all most of them have here.............

I wonder what their beloved pastor would think of them running around on the internet tellin ppl to kill themselves, calling them cunts etc etc etc........

If it was in defense of Trump* the pastor would likely approve.

I was referring to Sweet Potato Hitler supporters...regardless of their so-called religion.

Why didn't you single out any other denomination on your "I hate Evangelicals" thread? Well?

No, fuck you, you pathetic degenerate...

Since you are merely a poser, playing a christian here, why do you care?? Go live your life as you choose you can still come here & pretend, make yourself comfortable

If you were as smart as you pretend, would you need to ask??

Most certainly, @ least IMHO, not all would.......

They are to busy doing the "The Lord's work" to be dazzled by reality tv types, the NY & Hollywood heroes that sadly many follow & occasionally worship..
