Defense Of Marriage Act Ruled Unconstitutional By Second Federal Judge

I. ZappasGuitar, swear that no Christian has ever explained to me how gays and lesbians can destroy the sanctity of marriage.
Thank you, ZG.

Now, given that Zappa was born just yesterday, I have to devise a highly simplistic answer that even he can comprehend. I have to treat this as if he were a baby, and this kind of thing takes a little time.

I'll be back with a children's version, probably this evening.

Well lookie there, I do what you ask and you respond with more evasion and obfuscation...not to mention a healthy dose of condescension.

Just what I'd expect from another lying partisan hack who has proven many times over now that he never could answer the question.

All that from the guy whining about being insulted.

While I'm not surprised in the least that I have yet to receive a simple, straightforward answer from you or from anyone else.

I've given it several times on several different threads.......the simple fact is that while I have given an answer, you folks just don't like it and want something else......

So much for "a children's version"...

Apparently coming up with a "highly simplistic answer" that even I can comprehend was just more than you could handle. It's been nearly 24 hours now and there is STILL no response from Granule.

Am I surprised?

Not in the least.

So...what have we learned from this 21+ page "debate"?

That even though they've had days and days and days to come up with an answer, not a single Christian on these boards can explain in common everyday terms why it is they FEEL that gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of heterosexual marriage.

Apparently it's not something that can be explained...or maybe homophobes just don't like that "icky" feeling they get when they hear a gay or lesbian couple might be able to enjoy the same rights as any other married couple.

Heel, Zappa!

Let's get started, shall we?

Sanctity: holiness of life and character: GODLINESS
2a : the quality or state of being holy or sacred
According to Merriam Webster’s Online Dictionary, the word “Sanctity” comes from God.

In the Holy Bible, God has given His directive on marriage in the following two scriptures:

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Matthew 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
The current U.S. Marriage Law is in harmony with Genesis 2:24. To deviate from Genesis 2:24 is to deviate from the will of God.

Gay Rights activists are deviating from the will of God, in that they wish to see people of the same sex becoming “One flesh” or “Married”. Because of this, gay activists are also deviating from Matthew 19:6, as they seek to “put asunder” what God hath joined together. In some cases this may be unintentional, as many gays & lesbians insist this is harmless; that the feelings they share for each other are in fact true love. But a closer examination of this reveals that there is more to their “true love” than just sharing reciprocal feelings.

Tremendous pressure is being placed on virtually anyone who supports the will of God. If one does not conform to the wishes of these activists, then consequences will follow; usually in the form of abusive verbal treatment, or even worse. Sometimes this can create dissention among followers of God, as some believers become riddled with guilt and begin to doubt their convictions. At times, this “guilt” factor also makes its way into heterosexual marriages, as this can help cause a divide between “What God hath joined together”.

Liberalism is chiefly about giving and receiving guilt. Gay activism happens to fall right in line with this mindset. Throw that on an already massive fire of induced shame, and it doesn’t leave much incentive for the rest of us to continue putting up with your idea of compromise.

So what about all the straight married people of other religions? I have some friends, a married couple, who are pagans. Their beliefs are completely different from mine. Are you saying they don't ruin the "sanctity" of marriage because their genetalia don't match, but gay christians will destroy the sanctity of marriage? lol

Also, just a reminder, the benefits given by the gov't are not based on any religious beliefs. In fact, for the gov't to use one religion as the basis for the sanctity of marriage would be in violation of the US Constitution.

But thanks for answering. 7 days is a bit of a stretch for what we got, but at least you answered.

Matthew 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Divorce ruins the sancity of marriage, so does The Bachlorette and Vegas marriages. I say a marriage is only "sacred" when performed in a church, civil marriages and the law of the USA have nothing to do with religion. Churches can marry who they wish, but should keep their noses out of non religious contracts.

I wasn't married in a church, I was married in a home by a friend and my marriage has worked better than most sanctified marriages.

There is no proof that any of this is the will of God, it is your belief, so you should not marry a man, but not all of us believe that what is written in the Bible is from God.

That's because *the church* doesn't give marriage its sanctity. You and your spouse do that.

Your pagan pals have the correct genetelia configuration; gay christians don't.

Thanks for the reminder. Now, why don't you cite your source?

Marriage should be performed in a holy place. I hardly think your living room would be a holy place.
