‘Defund the Police’ is a media fantasy

Not only Gallup but Rasmussen and other polls are got the same results.

Americans do not trust the media in such large numbers thats its many democrats also...its also many democrats that dont want the police defunded and want them in their communities, that includes blacks and hispanics.



A new, exhaustive study by Gallup and the Knight Foundation found that Americans across the board are losing trust in the media. Some people might be shocked by this finding, but I suspect more people will be shocked to learn that the media had any trust left to lose.


Either way, I think a separate poll conducted by Gallup might illuminate the problem.


If you’ve paid any attention to the news, particularly cable news, over the last couple of months since George Floyd’s killing by police in Minneapolis, you might think “defunding” or “abolishing” the police is a widely held and even somewhat mainstream desire.


[Gallup suggests this is untrue. The vast majority of Americans of all races and ethnicities don’t want the police to leave their communities.

defunding is bad advertising. The name sucks. It is not about taking all the money from the cops, but moving some to people who are better at handling some parts of the job. Police would be happy to not deal with family problems. They are not equipped to deal with people who have mental problems. They also cannot deal with the homeless.
A social worker can help those people a lot better than a cop.
 
Losing trust in the media? Nearly twenty years ago the public had little trust in the MSM and that has gotten progressively worse.

It is interesting that Democrats and the Left trust the MSM far more than Independents and Republicans.

Could that be a bias reinforcement in that the MSM more closely reflects the values and beliefs of the Left and Democrats than any other part of the political spectrum?

The Democrats own the Marxist BLM movement. A vote for Biden is a vote for Marxism. Democrats own the communist Defund The Police movement as well.
 
"Defund the Police" is idiocy. Add social workers to their budget, not take away cops to pay for first responding magical faeries that have social worker skills and are able to arrest a buttsucker if he's "tuning up the old lady"... These knighted faerie souls that can magically deter bullets by their social working skills don't exist.

I feel bad for Minneapolis City Council. They can't gut their police force until the voters consent to amend the city charter in November.

Seattle City Council may have stopped short of a 50% cut, but, that's largely due to the contract with the police union, which keeps open the risk of litigation. Also, any cuts would only effect what remains of this year's budget.

They did manage to axe 100 officers, and drove Chief Carmen Best into a sudden retirement.

Incidentally, Darth Sawant voted against the proposed package of cuts, because it wasn't extreme enough for the dumbfuck's liking.
