No, it wasn't a major political fight...it was simply the GOP opposing a tax increase that eventually led to a balanced budget and surplus.

And when they took full control in 2001, they promptly cut taxes, erased a surplus, and then gave us TWO recessions in 6 years.

Notice how in everything I just wrote here, I didn't invent anything about you, I didn't invoke things about myself, I just made an agnostic argument about the facts.

That's in the 2000s, dear. Completely agreed the Republicans, under Bush the Lesser, made the rich richer and drove up the national debt by cutting taxes, mainly for the rich, and increasing spending.

Why does it bother you that people, naturally, form opinions of others? Isn't the main point that individuals are open to others, not that they'll eventually form opinions of others?

You and I have had several conversations with one another. Why do you think I wouldn't form an opinion of your nature over all of those conversations?
