In an interview with The New York Times, Ms. Slotkin said that she had heard from active-duty troops who were concerned about the legality of strikes that have targeted people accused by the Trump administration of trafficking narcotics by sea. Some wondered whether they could be held personally liable for the deaths, she said.
 
Trump is building an army to go into cities and brutalize civilians. Loomer said the Republicans have a serious NAZi problem that they should address. It is obvious and important to realize who is leading that movement.

I would readily tell Mark Kelly, to his face, he's the sort of CO I'd never want to work for. He keeps impressing me as one of those bureaucratic hacks unwilling to take a chance at anything doing everything 'by the book' no matter how pedantic, insane, or stupid that may be. His approach means little gets done and what does get done is both meaningless, pedestrian, and expensive. He's the sort that has no outstanding accomplishment in his career he can point to where he really made any difference.
 
The problem of course is that with the way America's military has long been abused to drive Empire....often flat out wasting America's blood and treasure......it is hard to imagine serving in it and being a good person at the same time.

Expecting them to care about legality seems like quite a stretch.

Almost no one ever throws their rank on the table.

This is a reprehensible obligation to put on the front line troops or our military. Our history is full of episodes where a low ranking military member, or cop, has ignored an unlawful order and been punished harshly for it while the superior who gave the order is just reprimanded for giving the order. It's also full of examples where that same low ranking individual followed the unlawful order and been severely punished for it while the ranking officer who gave the order is simply reprimanded for it.

No, I want people in command who are flexible and able to see possibilities beyond just what's expected of them. Kelly's the sort that says "No!" to everything that isn't done exactly the way the manual says it should be done. No thinking allowed.

So? I'm not impressed. Even his medals and awards for his service aren't impressive. They're what I'd expect from someone with his background. Nothing in them says he did anything above and beyond what he was asked to do.
