Oh...... MY...... GOD....

what a friggin idiot

Congressman Johnson says (speaking about adding troops to Guam)....

...it will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize

The author says...

...remember you are paying Congressman Johnson's salary this year -- $174,000

I will of course be sending this over to my buddy in Guam. He will of course want to move his family prior to the island tipping over.

True, tipping the island over would be a bad thing.

a VERY bad thing. Island tipping is not a good practice. Obviously this 'leader' is simply not aware that you can avoid tipping the island by placing exactly half of the population and buildings on one half of the island, while placing the other half on the other half of the island. Quite simple really. Though the additional weight could of course cause the island to sink straight down rather than tipping.

In all seriousness, props to the General. Had I been in his place I would have simply not been able to stop laughing at this idiot. I would have mocked him mercilessly.

seriously.... no one else is going to join me in mocking this moron??? A national politician says he is worried about an Island tipping over and no one other than Damo wants to join in the mocking?

I didn't really read the article, but he's not being literal, is he? Isn't this kind of like saying "I could eat a horse?"

i was a step ahead of you.

Well, as a government policy island tipping is bad, but if the island were to naturally tip because people stupidly chose to keep immigrating, then I think it's just their own fault.

You know, you gotta have some personal responsibility.

Alright I just watched it. Besides the gentleman being painfully slow to state the dimensions of the island it really did sound like he literally was concerned that the island might tip over. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and think there was something else to that comment but based on that video it doesn't really sound like there was.

agreed.... his painful minute long attempt to describe the size of the island and then his subsequent 'it might tip over'... really doesn't lend much flexibility to what he was trying to say.

I wonder if Congressman Johnson believes that islands are simply floating on the water? (yet they stay in the same position...)

This just in... Al Gore says the floating islands used to move around the globe until man made global warming caused them to stop and stay in one position.
