Democratic majority Grows!?!

Kind of a bad spin on what really happened yesterday.

The GOP had a good night. The Dems have less than a year to make a better case for keeping them in power....

I wouldn't read to much into last nights election results. First the voter turn out was very low. Second the NY congressional race wasn't representative. Third, the NJ race ran an unpopular Dem against a moderate Republican who is out of the party mainstream (I know, didn't know there was any of those left!) and lastly the Dems ran a very weak candidate for Governor in VA.

Anyone who looks at these for national trends is just seeing what they want to see.

as we see and were right about, the supposed Republican Scuzzy (whatever her name was) turned out to be a traitor as a Republican and shit on Republicans when she found out she couldn't win... so she would fit right in with the Democrat party..you all can have here..

Republicans need to start finding a way to accept competing views to build a stronger coalition. This drive for ideological purity is political suicide. If anyone is to blame for this it's the southern arm of the national party. They sabotaged her chances of wining this election because she didn't pass their narrow litmus test. WHAT BAFOONS! Newt was right in this and Army was wrong and they cost the Republicans a seat in congress with their devisive stupidity and political ineptitude.

The only trend I'm seeing out of last nights election is the trend to make the Republican party a regional party of southern conservatives. I'm sure Dems, despited all their problems, are smiling and not really worried. Why should they be? They have all these southern conservative ideologues shooting themselves in the foot.

No dude, you are wrong on this one. It has nothing to do with a narrow litmus test. When this woman's Democratic opponent attacked her from the right for being too pro taxes and big spending what does that tell you?

Go read up on her positions she supported and her voting record while in the New York state government. This was a liberal woman. She made Arnold S. look hard right.

And just my opinion, which is often wrong, but you saying there's nothing to read into this election result is doing exactly what others who are saying this is a big deal are doing. We're all partisans to varying degrees so we all have personal biases that seep into our views.

And on this board you see Democrats bitching about Blue Dog Democrats not being liberal enough. Not a whole lot different than what you say the Republicans are doing.

The FACT is that seat had been held by a Republican since the 1850's.

Local voters voted for the candidate they felt best represented them. But the RNC and all those Tightie Rightie Talking Heads just couldn't let the local voters decided what's best for themselves, and look what got them.

Weeks of meddling by Rush and Sean and Sarah and that ridiculous ventriloquist dummy they put up as the "Conservative" candidate got a Democrat elected to that seat for the first time in over 150 years.

Actually it was NY GOP that selected this lady to run for the seat. A few party heads. Not surprising some party elites are out of touch. The winner may be a Democrat but if he's to the right of the RNC's choice even on a few fiscal issues then I'm ok with it.

thanks for the advice, but If I were you you might want to take a look at why the Democrat-Progressive party is swirling down the toilet..and then offer THEM advice...people seem to be rejecting what they are selling, but as usual they always do, the commies thought they could put some slick talking used car salesmen in as President and all the people would fall into place...SURPRISE..

I hope the Democrats study this race and use it as a template for 2010.

Step one, attack the Republican for taxing too much.
step two, attack the Republican for spending too much.
Step three, sit back and watch the Republicans self destruct.
