Democratic senator says democracy ‘at risk’ in rebuttal to Trump address

What a crisis. 5100 women in NCAA sports and fewer than 10 trans competing, How do we save all those poor girls? The trans are all in transition.
It doesn't matter if there's only one ...that's one too many... And we're not just talking about the NCAA.. We're talking about girl's and women's sports in general... It's very simple....You just allow girls to compete in their own sport...

“Our democracy, our very system of government, has been the aspiration of the world, and right now it’s at risk,” Slotkin said in the official Democratic response. “It’s at risk when the president decides you can pick and choose what rules you want to follow, when he ignores court orders and the constitution itself, or when elected leaders stand by and just let it happen.”

Regarding the bolded, I specifically recall Biden openly ignoring SCOTUS with regard to their ruling on his plan to "forgive student loans". "He" was just going to "do it anyway".

I can't think of anything that Trump has done in a likewise manner. Care to refresh my memory?

Nordberg: "Only a FEW women are currently getting the ever loving shit beat out of them by men, so normalizing it is not a problem. Just look the other way. No big deal."

That theme doesn’t sell, tried it in the election and it didn’t help Harris, she even abandoned it, Americans want prices to go down, and that is what will sink Trump

Wrong, I’m beginning to think my purpose here is to correct the Red Hat Club’s fabrications and misunderstandings

The SCOTUS rejected Biden’s loan forgiveness program and in turn Biden issued the SAVE plan which didn’t forgive anyone’s loan but aided some in repayment schedules

And Trump hasn’t yet, he’s only been f*cking up the country for a month now, but he has already generated several lower court decisions that are on the way to his SCOTUS, and if his Court were to shockingly disappoint him, we’ll see

Given that this is anchovies that we're talking about, this is actually a pretty decent post (and it does highlight a potential weakness for Trump down the road).

Whether "high prices" will "sink Trump" is yet to be seen, but that's at least a sensible 'attack vector' that Democrats can use against Trump (later this year, IF prices don't come down any).

However, Democrats are currently "shooting their wad" way too early, not realizing that their current bitching about "high prices" is only highlighting the truth that prices become high under THEIR control of government.

Ah, no, Americans are not interested in the history of grocery prices, nor, who might be at fault, they just want them fixed, or at least the appearance they are being fixed. Just as the right did during Biden’s years, the Democrats are going to continuously harp on grocery prices. I have even seen Reagan’s slogan updated, “are you better off today than you were thirty days ago?”

The one thing your man has going for him is that if things devolve further, or even stay the same, he has four years to hope the pendulum swings so he can boast he did it

Right, but if they aren't "vote blue no matter who" libtards, then they are also well aware that prices have been high for pretty much the entirety of "Biden's" term and that it's unreasonable to expect the issue to be fixed at the snap of a finger by the new administration.

The Democrats' problem here is that they are now suddenly putting on an act, pretending that they just recently discovered that prices are all of a sudden very high. The general populace isn't that stupid, are sick of such pretending bullshit, and are well aware that prices have already been high for YEARS before Trump got into office a 2nd time. They know that it isn't something that just recently happened in the last 30 days or so...

Give it about six months or so. If prices are still high by the end of this year, then Democrats will have a solid attack vector to use against Trump (and Republicans) for the 2026 midterms. However, at the current moment, the only thing that Democrats hammering away at high prices accomplishes is reminding people precisely why they voted for Trump in the first place (because prices were so damn high under Biden).

Democrats should've been patient regarding this potential attack vector instead of shooting their wad right away and then opening themselves up for embarrassment if prices do come down some by the end of this year (heading into the 2026 midterms).

I really shouldn't be giving Democrats strategic advice like this, but I know that they won't take me seriously because they believe that I'm a "far-right nutter".
Just as the right did during Biden’s years, the Democrats are going to continuously harp on grocery prices.
Except that it made sense when the right did it. The left just wants revenge because they lost. Grocery prices started increasing towards the beginning of "Biden's" term, then increased a lot more after the Inflation Production Act was passed and signed into law, and kept increasing throughout "Biden's" term. It's obvious why Trump won. Prices weren't nearly as high during Trump's term, and people want some relief from "Biden's" high prices.

Now, Trump is implementing his agenda and it will take some time for it to spread throughout the whole goods production process. Give it at least 6 months, if not until the end of 2025. If grocery prices are still high by then, THEN hammer away at Trump re: high grocery prices leading into the 2026 midterms. Until then, Democrats are shooting their wad way too early before Trump's agenda even has a chance to be implemented.
I have even seen Reagan’s slogan updated, “are you better off today than you were thirty days ago?”
That's just plain stupid. Nobody reasonably expects the problems of the prior administration to be completely fixed after 30 days.

Four years makes sense. That's PLENTY of time. 30 days is nothing.
The one thing your man has going for him is that if things devolve further, or even stay the same, he has four years to hope the pendulum swings so he can boast he did it
