In the opening facts of the CIA worldbook about Somalia, you learn that the nation has 16M people, minus those who immigrated as "Refugees", to the United States.
The CIA lists that in 2024, there were 42K Refugees who have left Somalia. The population is almost 100% Sunni Muslim:
Muslim 99.9% (Sunni Muslim 98.1%, Shia Muslim 1.2%, Islamic schismatic 0.6%), ethnic religionist 0.1% (2020 est.)
