Democrats’ flip in California concludes final unresolved US House race

The contest was the last unresolved House race in the country, and with Gray’s victory, Republicans won 220 seats to Democrats’ 215. Overall, Democrats gained one seat from their pre-election total.

If all three seats are vacant at once, a 217-215 majority would mean that Republicans couldn’t afford to lose a single member on a party-line vote.

Guano, it also means that the democrats cannot win anything without the help of a few republicans. Details matter.

It's really weird that only in California, and only since that state started doing all-mail-in ballot elections, that Republican wins in Congressional races are regularly overturned / reversed after weeks of post-election day ballot counting where the Democrat that initially lost gets like 70 to 80% of the "late" votes and then suddenly wins by a narrow margin.

Is it? Is it really weird?

You don't think it unusual?

I don't even think it's factual.

Quite a few races had extended vote counts. If you look at the results of those - they're pretty much equal. Some went Dem, some went GOP.

And guess what? That's how it has been in every election in modern times.

How many almost a month?

Gatz already said he is abandoning his seat.

Not many, But quite a few took more than a week & even 2+ weeks.

If you want to cry & scream fraud on this one race because it went Dem - find something to back that up other than "took so long to count."
I'm not crying or screaming ....am I? I asked it was unusual.... And it is...

Yes. During the election, the vote was say, 50.5 to 49.5 in favor of the Republican. Then after the polls close, late mail-in ballots are still coming in for several weeks and get counted. In that count, 70+% of the votes are for the Democrat and the Democrat wins by a narrow margin. That smells of two-week old rotten fish.

Oh, stop your belly aching.

It is only vote-fraud if the evil, White-Supremacist Republican wins!

No, it doesn't, if you understand vote counts at any level.

You ignore it every time I counter that point - so, basically, you just WANT to believe something is fishy. But anyone who follows vote tallies throughout the elections knows this is not unusual, as they often count mail-in or larger municipalities last. And that isn't even always the case - as already stated on this thread, some areas where they took over a week to count went GOP.

If you're going to insinuate fraud - a serious accusation - you need to come up w/ something better.
