But to answer you realistically, every time we eat out in a restaurant that has undocumented kitchen workers, every time we hire a roofing company whose workers are undocumented, every time we buy veggies and fruits that were harvested by undocumented workers -- we are supporting them. “It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment … right?” said Johnston, referring to the famous caught-on-video showdown between a Chinese student and government tank in Tiananmen Square in China during the 1989 rebellion there.
“You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them,” the mayor said of Denver residents apparently prepared to go to the mat against the federal government.
Roughly 40,000 migrants have flocked to the Mile High City since December 2022 — the largest number of new arrivals per capita across the nation.

Well, it's not YOUR money I'm using when we go out to eat at a restaurant that has undocumented workers. It is not YOUR money that pays for the produce I buy that was harvested by undocumented workers. It wasn't YOUR money we used when we hired a landscaping company to install a drainage pipe to keep the backyard dry when it poured, whose workers didn't speak English and possibly were undocumented. The point here is that no one needs to give them money; they are earning it. If you're upset by their presence, blame those who hire them illegally.
