He was very clear that the vaccine must be proven safe first.

The problem for me is that I have been listening to Bret Weinstein on the subject of vaccine safety...we are always rolling the dice on safety....how well we do the roll is very much up for debate.

Just to be clear, I say there is a chance that Covid-19 is like HIV and will mutate around any vaccine. There is also a chance that a vaccine will be developed. The Alt Right does not like the uncertainties of life, so they bounce back and forth between it is impossible, and it will be happening immediately.

Under the Constitution, we follow English Common Law as it was until the Constitution. That includes in extreme circumstances, medical care and/or quarantining can be forced on upon people for the good of society. You do not have the right to spread the black plague, and never have had that right. The government must afford you "due process of the law".

What is "due process of the law"? That is a difficult, subjective legal question. What is not in question is that the government can force you to get a vaccine, as long as there is due process of the law.

The smallpox vaccine kills one or two people out of a million. This is not completely safe, and yet it was necessary that all around a smallpox case be vaccinated to eliminate the disease. Hundreds die, so millions can live.

Weinstein is a bit of a scientific joke. Most vaccines are extremely safe. There are vaccines that are a bit less safe, but those are rarely given these days.

Just take the damn vaccine. Most employers will likely mandate it anyway and you don't want to be the unhirable sad sap that ends up living on instant ramen.

The anti-vaxxers like Trump are one reason Corona will linger long after it should have expired. There is a portion of American society who will refuse the vaccine, so pockets of it will remain.
