DeSantis seeks Grand Jury investigation of COVID vaccines

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday that he is petitioning the state's Supreme Court to "impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to COVID-19 vaccines."

DeSantis made the announcement while chairing a roundtable focusing on the reported side effects of coronavirus vaccines, with some participants alleging negative health experiences after getting the shots made by companies such as Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.


"In Florida, it is against the law to mislead and to misrepresent, particularly when you're talking about the efficacy of a drug," DeSantis said. "Today, I'm announcing a petition with the Supreme Court of Florida to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to COVID-19 vaccines," he continued. "And we anticipate that we will get the approval for that.

So DeSantis has been Florida's first and foremost "misleader", using the governor's pulpit in speech after speech to urge Floridians to get vaccinated.

Boosters help, they don't guarantee. They are also losing effectiveness; a new study shows them about 43 percent effective. But that's 43 percent better than zero. And there is the further benefit of a milder case if you get infected and an extremely low probably of a bad side effect, so there is no sensible argument against them, only a dumb political argument from the reliably dumb Right.

so from what you're saying it certainly sounds like more research is not going to hurt... I don't see much reason in getting a bunch of shots that might help but then again might not... much better to focus on staying healthy and then if you do get the flu you're in great shape to battle it... and then have the natural immunity... unless you're extremely compromised not sure why you would agree to take a whole Battalion of shots when they're iffy...

Research is fine, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying DeSantis is about to find out if he hasn't already what it means to a politician to be exposed as a raging hypocrite. Also your reasoning falls a good deal short. If boosters may help and won't hurt that is a good reason for getting them, along with focusing on staying health. That focus is unlikely to keep you always a safe distance from a Covid carrier if you're not a hermit.

The nation has been constantly lied to about COVID, the COVID policies have been horrifically bad, and DeSantis is willing to do what he can to blow the lid off of this abuse and betrayal.

True much misinformation came from Trump but it likely was due to stupidity not on purpose. That vaccines have helped significantly is not in doubt in the real world.

Do you get a flu shot every year? I do and will continue to do so, both flu and COVID. We have a friend fighting for his life in a hospital in Ft. Meyer’s, FL with COVID, he’s unvaccinated and unfortunately, he’s losing his fight.

I’ll keep getting the boosters.

well certainly, but this about a lot more than just the vaccines themselves........he's called for an investigation of any wrong doing relating to the vaccine......that would include the administration of the program.....Florida has already had several convictions for fraud related to Covid programs.....

I do not I have never gotten a flu shot... and I don't plan on doing so anytime soon... I can understand why you would choose to continue to be vaccinated I believe I mentioned those in compromised situations.. I'm so sorry for your friend... and I hope he recovers.. but honestly you don't have any idea if it would have been any different had he been vaccinated... so many here have had shots and boosters and more shots and more boosters and they still get sick...

this isn't an investigation of deaths caused by vaccines.......this is an investigation of "any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to COVID-19 vaccines".......
