I know, and it's about time they change with the circumstances. I have plenty of problems with Catholicism but they have to do with the pronouncements of old men, not the fundamentals of the religion. I don't need some old goat saying that women shouldn't use birth control, that they can't become priests, that people can't remarry after divorce, etc.

TOO MANY priests have engaged in molestation and gone unpunished. For TOO LONG the Church turned a blind eye to molesters and just moved them around parishes like pieces on a chessboard. Too many priests have had heterosexual or homosexual affairs, against their vows, and rarely paid the price for it.
You should look into the history of abortion, for instance "prior to the 19th century most Catholic authors did not regard as an abortion what we call "early abortion" -- abortion before "quickening" or "ensoulment." There are plenty of writings out there that explain Church teachings on abortion throughout history.
As you well know I don't fully agree with Church teachings on abortion, especially when it comes to illness, rape or incest. And again, I REALLY hate the idea of old celibate men telling women what they should do with their bodies.

Yes, as far as birth control and remarrying after divorce but the Church still says it's wrong. I don't know of anywhere in the world where a woman was ordained a Catholic priest. If some rogue bishop ordained one, it wouldn't be seen as "legal" by the Church.

Pelosi and Biden both said they are personally opposed to abortion but will uphold the law of the land. How does that make them hypocrites?
