It was the cause of death for millions during the Crusades.
It was responsible for the witch hunts in the US between the 15th and 17th centuries.
It was used to persecute Jews and Muslims.
Now, before anyone goes ballistic, I am not condemning Christianity itself. But to claim it is innocent and pure is just nonsense.

generally the teachings of religions are markedly different from how their adherents actually behave.
they are aspirational after-all, and we are all sinners.
the actual teachings are what we usually discuss here.
