I think you're being too generous. Dementia typically involves the decline of one's faculties. trump has never...in his entire life...exhibited the ability to discern fact from fiction.

Mattis was too aggressive for the transition and too keen on war with Iran.. He was moved from being in charge of Central Command.. He wasn't fired.
 
I suppose the key point is that no previous American president was half-baked enough to quarrel with everyone who knew anything, until they let trumpf take over to destroy America.

Fired/removed is a distinction without a difference.

The point is people were saying some of the same things about how Obama that they are about Trump—it was just kept under the radar by Obama’s ‘media protectors’. This guy was accusing Obama of ‘treating people who disagree with him as enemies’.

In fact, you can call it Mattis Removal 2.0. Why the difference in coverage? Why is the sky falling this time?

Excellent point. Obama surrounded himself with those who knew more than he did...for better or worse.

trump has always surrounded himself with 'yes' men/women, and is easily intimidated by those who exhibit superior intellect. Which is why he rarely sees his son Barron.

Mattis RESIGNED when Trump announced he was pulling out of Syria.. and Trump was so pissed that he's made him leave immediately instead of working until Feb.

You don't know why the coverage is different? Really? Trump is the infant terrible.. Lashing out and throwing tantrums daily.
